The idea that fascist propaganda is in any way obstructed by reality is just sillier than I can say. Telling people scapegoated by fascists to just behave better is astoundingly out of touch and friendly to fascism.
Some of y'all are actually discouraging *all* protest until after the election and I am flabbergasted. Don't you understand that he had all the footage he needed the moment that police station in Minneapolis burned?
I told you that night he would frame protesters as an existential threat to police. I told you all of this was coming, including folks blaming the protesters for Trump's escalations, and as I told you all then, that's a bullshit move.
White support for Black-led protest is always diminished with time. This is a historical reality and one I cautioned y'all about early on in these rebellions. At some point, most white liberals start expecting things to get respectable and compatible with the mainstream.
White liberals are generally very invested in the status quo, typically benefit from it, and gravitate toward its stability. White paranoia about the *consequences* of Black-led protest and the perceived threat it poses to white people always escalates with time.
That historically inevitable trend is as responsible for the current tone of things as anything and a lot of you are helping that process along by agreeing with Trump that unrest is the problem.
The violence and material conditions other people were up against brought on these uprisings. But some of you are not treating that violence or those conditions as the primary issue. Some of you are trying to silence all dissent in the streets. You are helping the fascists.
Build what you think needs to be built and amplify what you think should be seen. That is my response to wanting to see protest take a particular shape in a given moment, but it demands a whole lot of me, work wise, so I can see why not everyone is taking that approach.
Btw riots are gonna seem a lot more relatable to white ppl again when the eviction moratorium runs out. That's why Trump let the CDC issue it. He wants to wait until his power is entrenched and he can put any resistance down hard, or until letting it happen feels like revenge.
