1- This is an extraordinary tale of my experience while visiting crime scene related to sexual assault against a four year old girl and therefore, some graphic details of this dreadful experience may be extremely painful to read and hence reader discretion is advised.

2- We all have been reading and listening about such incidents through social media, news & other sources but we can never comprehend how painful it could be for the personnnel of law enforcing agencies to hold their nerves while investigating such incidents

3- Back in 2017, I was posted as ASP UT Sheikhupura, one night I got a call from SP investigations directing me to reach to a certain village immediately without any delay. That village was an hour away from my place so we rushed to reach the aforementioned village.

4- An appalling silence welcomed us at the village, 2 Policemen ushered us to a street where media personnel were lined up outside a house, waiting for police to allow them to enter, petrified neighbors assembled near that house and their faces were covered with nothing but fear.

5- As we moved close to the house, my heart sank while hearing wailing mother and grieving siblings. Inside the house, Police officers & CSI team of PFSA gathered around a bed placed in the center of courtyard collecting evidence and samples.

6- A small, fragile & lifeless body of a 4-year-old girl laid there. What I witnessed was agonizing to the core, her throat was strangled with shalwar, eyes wide open as if calling for help, mouth ajar, hands fisted and clothes soaked in blood.

7- That little angel was brutally assaulted & killed. I was informed there were multiple vaginal & anal tears. Now as I write this down, I still imagine her face, talking to me & asking me, “I was only a girl, hiding under my sheets, I am broken now and left dead.

8- Is that what I was destined for? Is that why I was born? I am torn, ripped & abused and travel through tunnels of pain”.
I was shivering & couldn't control my tears, it was the first time in my life to have seen the dead body of a victim of child abuse.

9- I wasn't able to stand there for more than two minutes & went to the crime scene where the dead body was found. The local SHO & his teams were present on spot. Based on the analysis of the crime scene & information gathered from neighbors the police short listed different

10- streets and whereabouts of the accused where he could be possibly residing & a thorough house to house search was conducted by different teams. Within two hours they came across a suspect. A boy in his teens who worked as a laborer at an animal farm of that village.

11- Previously, the suspect lived in a house adjacent to the victim's place and had recently moved to another street. He was taken into police custody and shifted to the police station where he confessed to his crime. During interrogation he revealed that

12- he lured the girl by offering her sweets & the little angel would follow him, little did she know what was coming for her. When he was asked about the reason behind committing such a heinous crime, he had no idea what he had done.

13- He mentioned that he grew up watching porn videos with friends at village & he would later perform such atrocious acts of sexual assault with animals at the farm & on that particular day he thought of doing it with a child as they were docile and wouldn’t resist any move.

14- In the end, the heartless killer mentioned that that he killed her because he had no other option as she was crying & bleeding.
I could not sleep the whole night that day and the days that followed. The dreadful scene at the victim's house haunted me for days.
