The fact that India's supply lines are shorter means India can prolong this military stance.
The only response Chinese can give is escalation.
But if they go up the escalation ladder, so too do the Indians.
They have forgotten that. Their strategic objective should have been to have the best of relationships with India, so that the territorial gains they made, in Tibet, Ladakh, Xinjiang, etc, all that gets digested inside the cozy friendship.
But arrogance and distrust kills all intelligence.
So China instead chose the path of intimidation, humiliation and conflict with India.
Now all Chinese territorial gains would have to be defended by China at max cost and risk.
But political power within CCP will depend on a leader's ability to defend these far off places. That makes those leaders vulnerable.
There is no reason for India to accept any of these territories as belonging to China.
Chinese have themselves opened and swallowed Pandora's Box.
Hey, now it is time for them to sleep in the bed they made.
