Yall know I'm late. 😛
HEY YALL!
WELCOME TO #SlateSpeak .
An hour of radical truth telling and faith.
I'm your hostess with the moste-
with all I have to give.
Jameelah. TJ if ya nasty.
So here, we have lively discussions about faith.
No you don't have to be a Christian.
No you don't have to agree.
But the block train leaves my station every 10 minutes, so don't push it, okay? #slatespeak

QUESTION: Do you collect anything? If so, what?
Do you have any interesting hobbies? #SlateSpeak
I'm TJ. (they/she). I don't have ANY collections at all.
Oh. Except...
I pray in song lyrics.
Prayer 1:
"Sometimes I wonder the fuck am I prayin' for?
My momma hate, I question the lord
There's a higher power, I believe in that
I question where he put that evil at."
-Time, by Rexx Life Raj #SlateSpeak
Prayer #2
"There will be no love that's dying here for me"
-Greg Porter- No Love Dying.
Amen
Today. We are talking about POSSIBILITIES.
Alot of times, we have to see that there's another way to live. Another way to be. That's what I want us to talk about today. #SlateSpeak
Respond to Q1 with A1 , and so on. Use the tag so we can see you!
Q1: Can you tell me a turning moment in your faith? A time when you said to yourself, "I've been holding onto something I THOUGHT I had to be, but ya know what? No. It doesn't have to be this way"
Did you have a moment like that?
Big or small-What was it? #SlateSpeak
My bad I got caught up in yall's answers.
Wow. #SlateSpeak
Q2: How do you feel now that you've accepted another way? Accepted that spirituality doesn't have to be how you were taught? #SlateSpeak
Lets try something so I don't go too much over time. (Oh I'm gonna go over time as is the Tradition. Don't you worry)
Q3 is like... a breakout session question. Answer either one. #SlateSpeak
Q3a: What's the toughest part about exploring new faith possibilities?
Q3b: If you're handy with a Bible or any religious text. Is there a scripture, book, or character that people need to see new possibilities for?
I'm over time. Every time.
Tardiness is holy.
Holiness is right!
😂
LAST QUESTION
Q4: what would you tell someone who needs to see new possibilities for their faith? Who feels like life COULD be different, but they're afraid? Or confused about what's next? #SlateSpeak
Whew. I'm sleepy.
Yall of course, one again, were amazing.
I've attended this chat faithfully since 2016. And I'm full and hopeful every time.
Thanks so much yall. Goodnight!!! #SlateSpeak

Attending the zoom meeting of the Rockdale Legislative Delegations about the BioLab chemical plume. #ConyersGA #biolabfire
First off, Im attending via zoom because this meeting was held in a legislative building an hour away from the city at 10am on a workday. If our voices need to be heard, why is this meeting held in this manner?
Zoom audio went out. LIVESTREAM ON YOUTUBE HERE: LIVE | State legislators hold public meeting over BioLab chemical plume ()youtube.com
My biggest problem with voting will always be this:
People telling me to vote are nowhere to be found when I'm doing grassroots work to address the problems they told me voting would fix.
Yall run and tell me to vote, then you sit on your hands.
You don't attend programs.
You don't go to protests.
You don't even retweet GoFundMe's.
You vote and that's it. Cause you don't have any other plan for helping the people you say you care about.
"This is why we have to vote"
NO.
This is why you have to open your hand. Your door. Your wallet.
NO ONE ELSE IS COMING.
Most of yall have no idea what its like to be on your feet ALL day and only come home with 53 dollars to show for it.
And it shows.
Whew. The way yall talk about money. Twitter is full of people who:
-Read "rich dad/poor dad"
-Do poverty cosplay but actually have decent financial access.
-Write about poor people but never had to LIVE on minimum wage.
Good morning to everyone in the universe EXCEPT the couple who made jewelry from the broken glass at protests.
At the @NMAAHC , there are iron grave markers. They were made by the ironworker of an all Black town during the Reconstruction era.
This white lady went to take a picture.
I calmly... firmly... told her she shouldnt do that.
She was about to have a whole gravemarker of a WHOLE deceased Black person in her phone. Walkin around with it.
Showing it to friends as a cool artifact.
Just like somebody is walking around with protest glass around their neck like memorabilia from a lynching.
Cause white witches and goths coming for @FredTJoseph , listen to me real quick: THERE ARE BLACK MYSTICS. Witch aesthetic Instagram doesnt tell you that, but we exist.
And as a whole Black mystic, seeing what he saw in that house, I would've left too.
Follow me for a second.
White people have a bad habit of buying "vintage" cute "little trinkets" to decorate their homes and guest rooms. White people do not have a good track record of knowing where their cultural artifact decor comes from.
So I would've been suspicious at the very least.
NOW...
@FredTJoseph mentioned all the trump paraphernalia in the area of the home.
Yall been calling trump and his presidency EVIL for 4 years. Dont look at a Black man funny when he leaves a home in a trump neighborhood with "kitschy" decor on the shelves.
THAT CONNECTION MATTERS.
