Losing these young MDs is a devastating blow not only to access to medical services in these communities, but to their very economies.
It makes them less attractive places to live or start a business. It means $ leaving the area when folks travel elsewhere for care. #ableg

What's even more ridiculous is that @shandro & @jkenney are taking extensive, likely unconstitutional, steps to try & force doctors to practice in rural areas @ the same time as their toxicity is driving doctors who've *chosen* to work rural away.

In April, @JasonNixonAB promised Sundre Mayor Terry Leslie Sundre residents wouldn't see any loss of access to services & that @shandro would bring replacement physicians in to cover any gaps.

While doctors from Sundre's Greenwood Clinic have stepped in to cover the ER & acute & long-term care, there's been no replacement for obstetrical coverage.
And Nixon & Shandro now have 8 months to do what took the M&S 6 years - ensure 5 new family MDs for the community. #ableg
