How does this tie to ensuring there's a peaceful transfer of power? Three ways:
1) Getting out the vote for down ticket candidates ALSO pulls in votes for the top of the ticket (Biden). Look at our target states - AZ, GA, IA, NC among others.
Biden has a chance to take all of these, but he can't spend the next 58 days campaigning in each of these states. You know who can? The Democratic nominees taking on these Trump-supporting GOP senators. Help them and you help Biden.
2) Elected Republicans don’t speak out against Trump. Non-elected ones might.

If we are the midst of a constitutional crisis over Trump's power grab, we need more ex-GOP senators. We need to demonstrate that sticking with Trump will not save your political career.
The simple, sad fact of the matter is, ex-GOP Republican senators are more pro-democracy and more willing to criticize Trump than sitting GOP senators.
3) After the election, we need a Democratic Senate to save our democracy.

McConnell promises to be the "Grim Reaper" of all progressive legislation. If we take the presidency and not the senate, any progressive agenda under Biden is screwed. We cannot afford this scenario.

While VP Biden wasn't the first choice of most Indivisibles in the primary, 95% of our membership voted to endorse him now. We can save our democracy and make big progressive change next year, but only if we elect Joe Biden this year. We're all in. 2020.indivisible.org
95% of Indivisibles (in all 50 states, DC, and PR)!

That's an incredible number. For a national endorsement, we require a majority of Indivisible group leaders and a supermajority (60%) of all members. The result speaks for itself: Indivisible's are ready to unify to beat Trump.
This result though is about more than just beating Trump. We don't agree with Biden on every issue, but I can say this: Biden and his team are reaching out and listening, and I think the Indivisible movement can partner with them to do big things next year.

Trump's political innovation is saying the quiet part out loud. It might sound like a gaffe, but he's actually very effectively rallying his troops against democracy to steal the November election 7 months early. (/Thread)
Trump says out loud that brown people are rapists and criminals. That democracy is a sucker's game. That he can do whatever he wants. He replaces dog whistle politics with bullhorn politics.
To some of us, this just sounds politically tone deaf. "Look at this idiot who can't even feign support for pluralistic democracy! What a dolt!"

But it's darker than that- because we don't even blink. It's just another Wednesday in Trump's America.
