Playing with @RoamResearch Δ and exploring the featureset, especially wrt to-dos. To use the feature, right-click the bullet of the block you want to apply it to, then click the mysterious Δ. This adds an aliased blockref to your block. But where does this take us? #Roamcult \1
We open it, and now we're in tomorrow's daily notes, zoomed in to a new block that has the contents of the previous block and a Δ button. So far, we've made a block and copied it to the next day. Looks like a foundation for spaced repetition. What happens if we click Δ? \2
A new blockref has been added, but this time two days from that day. If you select the new block, you'll see {{[[∆]]:3}}. 3 blocks? The original (second) block now has {{[[Δ]]}}. What if we change the 3 to 5? \3
Nothing seemingly happens. But if we click the Δ button, the number increments by 2 and a new task is added, this time that number of days (n) - 1 days into the future. You can see this in action on the Δ page. \4
Side note: the first two blocks that are Δ'd don't exhibit this behavior. The progenitor block just gets a blockref to the next upcoming block. That one gets the first instance of the Δ button, but with no number afterwards. The third one is where the auto-numbering begins. \5
So this editable number determines how many days into the future -1 the block will repeat. This is how you can do repeating tasks and spaced repetition within roam so far. I'm excited to see how fellow users and @RoamResearch team work to push this powerful feature forward. \fin
