In 2016 Texas went for Trump by nearly double digits... Texas hasn't had a statewide elected Democrat for almost 3 decades.

The very idea that a Dem candidate is even in play in Texas is utter insanity.

But all things are possible with the Orange Lord.
You know this is not a joke because the Trump campaign and state Republicans are taking this seriously.

Trump just came in to Texas on a bus tour.

Trump is running lots of ads on TV.

Trump may be an idiot, but his people are not.

The "they eat x,y,z!" meme has been levied against most unwanted ethnic communities around the world.

The funniest part of all the Abbott/Secession talk is that if Texas did secede from America, we would get all those #FAFO stories (like for Brexit).

"Texans are angry that they now have to stand in the 'Foreign Visitors' line at the airport."

Congratulations to WHITE SUPREMACY for winning a huge victory today.
Asian Americans have consistently been used as a foil to eliminate Affirmative Action programs which serve to repair centuries of intentional discrimination against Black and Latino AND Asian communities.

Having Asian Americans as parties doesn't make it any less racist.
For decades, WHITE SUPREMACISTS have argued that there's no need for direct affirmative action programs because institutional racism has been eliminated.

For anyone actually from minority communities, you know that's complete bullshit.

The state of Texas used to fund public education at 60%. That ratio plummeted to 40% over the past 2 decades.

Texas Republicans didn't bother to do anything about it till they lost 12 seats in 2018.

But, yes, let's BLINDLY trust them this time.
Local school districts complained about the state's shortfall for more than a decade.

Smaller school districts had no choice but to increase local taxes to make up the difference.

State Republicans didn't give a shit until it cost them politically.
Giving the state 100% ownership of the funding for public education ...

Means that state leaders, far removed from the public education system, will have an even bigger pile of cash to siphon from for pet projects, tax give-aways, and perks for big donors.
