The breach of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ's orders by the Muslim archers who left their assigned posts to despoil the meccan camp, allowed a surprise attack from the makkan cavalry led by Khalid bin Waleed which bought chaos to the Muslim ranks

@Hadithoftheday Prophet Muhammad ﷺ had positioned 50 archers under commandment of Abdullah ibn Zubair R.A at Jabal al rumah. They were ordered to stay there until further orders and whatever may be the circumstances. They were to obstruct enemy if they attacked Muslims from the rear.

@Hadithoftheday When the muslims were allover the enemies, some of archers thought that they have won the battle and went on to collect war booty. The commander of archers -Abdullah ibn Zubair tried hard to stop them,but they left that spot and there were only 10-12 muslims left on that mountain

@Hadithoftheday Khalid bin Waleed R.A saw the sudden vacuum created by the disappearance of the rearguard & his men attacked the Muslims from behind,killing many in the process. When the Muslims saw themselves surrounded,they were overtaken by panic & disorder & failed to map out a cohesive plan

@Hadithoftheday In the battle of Uhud, Khalid bin walid and his army martyred Zubair ibn Abdullah R.A (commander of archers at uhud) and group of some archers who stayed on mountain abiding the orders of Prophet ﷺ while other archers committed a mistake of leaving the post to collect war booty

@Hadithoftheday Before his conversion to Islam, Khalid was behind the bitter defeat of the Muslim army in the battle of Uhud.
The Muslims’ defeat in Uhud was masterminded by Khalid, given his ability to turn imminent war losses to glorious victories.

@Hadithoftheday Later on Khalid bin waleed accepted Islam and he was given title as "Saifullah i.e Sword of Allah" by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ .
On the sixth or eighth year of Hijra, Khalid R.A traveled to Madinah to meet the Prophet ﷺ and announce his acceptance of the Islamic faith.

@Hadithoftheday The first thing he had asked from Prophet Muhammed ﷺ was to pray to Allah to forgive anything he had done to the Muslims.

Prophet Muhammed ﷺ told him that his acceptance of Islam meant that all his past sins were forgiven by Allah.

@Hadithoftheday The battle of Mu’atah was Khalid R.A's first fight along the ranks of the Muslim army
When three main commanders (Zaid ibn Harith,Jafar R.A,& abdullah ibn rawahah) of Muslim army attained martyrdom during this battle,Khalid R.A held the flag of Islam on the request of Thabit R.A

@Hadithoftheday The muslims were edging closer to defeat.Khalid R.A had no choice but to retreat with lesser losses..
He smartly reshuffled the right and left flanks of Muslim army and used his incredible experience to defeat the byzantines.
He then retreated with the army safely back to madina

@Hadithoftheday In this battle (Battle of Mu'atah) , the Prophet ﷺ gave Khalid R. A the title as Saifullah which means 'The Sword of Allah'.
On the leadership of the Muslim army in the battle of Mu'atah, the Prophet ﷺ said: ‘Then it was gripped by a sword of the swords of Allah'

@Hadithoftheday On his death bed, he said as his tears flowed, "I have fought in so many battles seeking martyrdom that there is no spot in my body left without a scar or a wound made by spear or a sword. And yet here I am, dying on my bed like an old camel, May the eyes of coward never rest".

@Hadithoftheday The wife of Khalid bin Walid R.A, upon feeling such a pain of her husband told Khalid R.A, "You were given title of Saif-Ullah i.e Sword of Allah and sword of Allah is not meant to be broken. It is not your destiny to die like a Martyr but to die like a conqueror."
