***A THREAD*** As I sit here reflecting on the outcome of the recent elections in Jamaica, I cannot help but think about my research on talent management (TM). It is posited that TM can contribute to businesses gaining sustainable competitive advantage. /1
It is evident that the JLP has engaged in talent management practices and the organization is reaping the rewards. Managing your human resource is not something to be taken for granted whether you operate a small business, medium sized business or even a political organization /2
Strategic TM by @collingsdg speaks to identifying key positions, developing talent pools of high performers and high potentials to fill these roles, and the hr architecture (systems) to fill the roles with competent incumbents who are committed to the organization. /3
From observation it appears that the JLP has used G2K as a source of talent. In fact this recruitment would have started at the university level allowing the org. to identify, acquire and mold individuals within their talent pool into the leaders we see today. /4
This might be worth delving into further. Talent management is not just for businesses but organizations on a whole. Much to learn indeed /5 #talent #talentmanagement #PhDCaribbean
