Alleges @HomelandKen also rejected intel for Northern Triangle country reports asylum officers use, saying he'd punish “deep state" analysts reporting (accurately) "high levels of corruption, violence, & poor economic conditions" -purge "never implemented" bit.ly/35gJsx4
Also alleges "repeated pattern of abuse of authority, attempted censorship of intelligence analysis and improper administration of an intelligence program related to Russian efforts to influence

Will end this thread with words of @DHS_Wolf speech today: "A vocal and ill-informed minority has clamored to paint recent DHS actions as examples of mission drift or politicization. They could not be more wrong."

Incredibly significant: Video appearing to show Guatemala health official saying deportation flight from US had between 50-75% of people test COVID-19+ -given @ICEgov packs flights, 100+ people *one flight* would be nearly as many cases as ICE has confirmed in custody *right now*
@ICEgov Just days ago WH issued threats of visa sanctions against countries that don't take back their citizens deported from the US amid coronavirus - widely seen as aimed at Northern Triangle, and in particular Guatemala, which was first to stop them March 17: lat.ms/2yU0bIe
Guatemala has since stopped & started accepting US deportation flights several times after handful of minors deported from the US with fevers, and several adults tested COVID-19 positive, despite US claiming proper protocols to prevent this very thing: lat.ms/2V9Ik8Y

Last night, hours after @latimes published on Central America's fears that Trump WH could deport coronavirus to the vulnerable region -> lat.ms/2UMhLFt Guatemala confirmed 1st case: 29yo deported Thurs from Mesa, AZ, on a flight with 40 others, including 10 kids 1/
@latimes It was the 2nd deportation flight that day-1st brought 85 Guatemalans, including 11 kids, from Brownsville, Texas. The young man displayed no symptoms when he landed, per @migracionGuate but did 2 days later under monitoring by Health Ministry, and tested positive for COVID-19 2/
The 1st known confirmation of coronavirus among those deported from US, now global epicenter of the pandemic, raises questions about @DHSgov stated protocol to prevent this exact thing - and WH clear determination to continue removals despite risk of exporting virus 3/
