1/ Every year #training is a slog.
As I age it takes longer to get to first #5k of the season where I don't die on the road. It takes even longer for pace to come back.
But nothing like the feeling when you get form back and are on track shaving seconds every week.

2/ This year I couldn't train in Ramzan. Work, recovery and injuries reduced mileage and pace in Mar and Apr. It took steady training in Jun, Jul and Aug to get my first comfortable 5 with negative splits this morning.
3/ The best part.
I am running on roads of my neighborhood. Something I had never done before. Air quality is fantastic at 6 am. So is the weather.
Even better, this week a group of kids have started running on the same path. Nothing like converting others to road running.

4/ Still a long way to go before we get to the pace of last season, but this is as good a beginning as we could hope and pray for.
