Headed to #Clackamas County where the county fire PIO confirms to KATU firefighters have been told to disengage from the massive #RiversideFire and encourage citizen evacuation on the way out. Firefighters are going to safe zones #LiveOnK2

Now this, from Sandy Fire: "As a safety precaution if you are able to voluntarily evacuate now under Level 2 this will help reduce traffic congestion in the event we reach a Level 3."

Traffic on 205S going towards #OregonCity is slowing down significantly as we edge closer to Oregon City; this pic is 3ish miles away. NB traffic is moving better. Visibility is diminishing significantly every mile we drive towards Clack Co #LiveOnK2

Lots of traffic in #OregonCity as people look to leave. The area is under a Level 2 evacuation order. @clackamasfire expects the #RiversideFire and #BeechieFire to merge. Both are 100,000+ acres each. Firefighters have moved out ahead of the merge

Tough. This guy in Oregon City just left California after surviving the Paradise Fire in 2018. He said he lost everything in that fire; now he packed up again #RiversideFire

I've been in Oregon City with @RPeavyhouse for 3+ hours. Traffic hasn't lightened up at all. People are heading out of parts of #Clackamas County under Level 3 orders. Here's more from the man who just packed up after surviving a California wildfire a couple yrs ago. #LiveOnK2

Moved a couple blocks to one of the main drags in #OregonCity as drivers from Molalla and south get out. Traffic is moving a bit better towards the interstate. Some people tell me they’ve spoken to others who say 205NB is moving at 20mph #RiversideFire

I started this thread saying firefighters were disengaging from the fire for safety reasons. Good news: conditions have allowed for the tactical pause to end
