@msfrogladie On 9/11/01 I was getting ready for school when i saw the first plane hit Tower 1 WTC, and I didn't know what I was looking at? I was asking my roommate if they saw what was happening and continued getting ready. I had to be at work in about 15 minutes.
@msfrogladie By the time I got to my school, the second plane hit Tower 2 WTC and I was definitely scared, slowly realizing what was going on. I had 24 Kindergarteners on their way our classroom and we knew not to discuss so I put on my smiling face gave morning hugs and carried on.
@msfrogladie By our first recess, I called home and turned on TV to find the pentagon had been hit and I watched in horror as the South Tower collapsed. It was a cloudy day in KCMO which added to the darkness. We then heard Flight #93 crashed in Pennsylvania. Obviously, we were under attack.
@msfrogladie I turned off the TV and went back to putting on the "teacher" show for my Kindergarten students and continued teaching till lunch. We were all scared that day and devastatingly sad! At lunch, I found out the North Tower had collapsed. I did not know what to expect.
@msfrogladie I wasn't even sure if we shouldn't be worried of being attacked at a school. There had been that recent school shooting of 17 teachers and 2 students in Germany and I was anxious, but carried on. The most moving support was that my roommate brought me flowers @ the end of the day
