I found @RoamResearch while seeking a better toolset, searching even though was pretty sure it didn't exist. But actually, it did! And it was Roam. I mused that all roads do lead to Roam (even if you're not actually doing research). 1/8
Experimenting with @RoamResearch had a learning curve, but discovering new capabilities and exploring Roam became ... fun. I spoke to @Conor to learn his vision. He was intelligent, enthusiastic, the right amount of fiery. 2/8
Talking to @Conaw was great. But then, something else happened. I realized I'd stopped just being a "user" of @RoamResearch. With so many apps, especially productivity apps, we use them because we *have to*, not because we *want to*. 3/8
Roam had stopped being "just an app". It was way more fun than expected! I was not a "user", but something else. I felt like a "pilot". And pilots don't use jets. Pilots FLY them. Moreover, Pilots WANT to fly jets. @Roamresearch is like that. 4/8
I've heard ppl say they do feel like they're piloting @RoamResearch actually. Its true, because even when flying through it fast, the scale, and meaning of the landscape remain clear and present - like a video game. 5/8
So, really liking @RoamResearch and its vision, I decided to invest a bit when the opportunity arose. Some time after that, @Conaw and @hashbrown490 came to see me in person for the first time. And things changed again. 6/8
I heard their whole story, grokked their dedication. They had only begun! Roam's vision is awesome, but the true reason Roam succeeds is because @Conaw and @hashbrown490 are boss. Exceptional guys with the right idea, for the right reasons, at the right time. 7/8
