I once donated blood for someone’s mum in 2016 and collected 5k. The woman died 2 days after the donation and this man made sure i paid back the 5k, he said “your blood killed my mum”

Never to be forgotten
Let me drop the full story.

I went to General Hospital Gbagada to donate my blood freely and not for any fee as my normal routine was then. That day to be precise, as i was entering the hospital, two men cornered me up to know my mission...
I was scared but I instantly summoned courage and told them my mission. One of them went in to bring another man who happened to be from UK who explained the situation to me, he said his mum is 80 years and she needs blood but the blood bank wants payment...
So i said i will drop mine for free. I asked how they know that’s what i came for and they pointed to a man who knows that i do come for that.
The UK man introduced me to his elder brother, a typical Egba man and the three of us entered the blood donation center...
They brought me in as if i came to donate for their mum, and i went with the story too. I donated and they bought me 1 Maltina and milk.

As i was leaving the hospital premises, the UK man ran after me and dipped 5k in my pocket, i tried to reject even though i was happy...
but he wanted me to have it. As i was about leaving, his elder brother, the Egba man ran after me to collect his share of the 5k but I didn’t give him. He collected my number and said they would like to contact me that i’m a good man bla bla bla. Two days later...
Mama died. This man called me that his younger brother wants to see me, i met him at TBS thinking the UK man wants to thank me the more only for the Egba man to hold my trousers that Mama is dead and it’s my blood that killed him. Egbami....
Before i knew it. He was shouting at TBS and asked for the 5k to which i went to the ATM and withdraw for him.

That was my last time donating blood. I still think about it.

That’s all that happened

Lagos is filled with vibes. This morning choke.

The danfo i entered from Ketu to Fadeyi na elele. We didn't have issues on the road until we got to Onipanu bus stop. The driver parked at the original designated bus stop which is far away from where buses drop people usually...
His reason is that he doesn't want problems with LASTMA under Onipanu pedestrian bridge. He told everyone that after that place, it's until we get to Fadeyi ooo.

The people alighting at Onipanu started dragging with the conductor. Insults were flying around laaro kutukutu Monday
A rough looking guy with swollen mouth and plastered face was the main man fighting the conductor. He threatened hell, promising to beat him up but all my efforts to see the fight happen didn't work. They only shouted and alas, we left, drove small and got to under bridge.

Uber and Bolt driving businesses are nice business to venture into but make sure you OWN your car.

If you are faithful on the App and not converting online passengers to offline, you will make an average of 20k daily driving for 10 hours.

Driving is not easy, let's say you rest
for 2 days in the week. That leaves you 5 working days of 50 hours.

If you don't own the car, the average payment you pay car owner is 30k weekly. Payment is on Sunday.

Making an average of 100k - 30k = 70k.

Deduct 25% App fee from 100k is 25k.

70k - 25k = 45k.
Deduct fuel fee. For every 5k you spend an average of 1k for fuel if the car is good in Lagos.

Meaning you will spend 20k on fuel for the week.

Balance is now 25k.

Remove miscellaneous of 5k, you have 20k.

Now see why you can't rest for the weekend. You have to work.

Around 2013, my then boss looked at me sitting in the office and asked "can you drive". Wahala ti de bayi o.

I first thought if i say "No", mo ti gba sack niyen but as an IT student, what does he expect. I said the No faintly waiting for him to reply...
He said "You can't drive at your big age? Go and learn driving o, you can be given car at anytime to drive"

That statement sounded like promotion in my ears. They will me car? Emi IT student lasan lasan.

On a second thought, none of the full staff get car. Won gbemi l'handicap.
Getting home that night, i couldn't sleep. Who will teach me how to drive?
I started seeing Driving schools prices "20k".

Kilode, elo ni mo ngba as IT student?

That weekend, while roaming my area, i jam one advert "PROMO PROMO PROMO. LEARN TO DRIVE IN 5 DAYS FOR 5K"

A team of nine professors gathered to judge a student who was wrongly accused.
He proved his case and everyone in the court room knew he wasn't the offender. The offender even owned up to the offence.
At the end of the day, eight of the professors said...
he's guilty while 1 professor said he isn't but no one knew who the 8 are. No one knew who is the lone professor who stood for justice. They declared under hidden identities against the accepted practice and that judgement went down as the most terrible judgement in the school.
The lone professor never fought for the boy in public. No one can even say this is who the lone professor is.

Now, the professors are out here claiming to be the lone professor but the fact is that so far the lone professor didn't come out to defend the boy...

Thank God i didn't die in year 2000.

Just like every other December Holiday, my mum took us to our hometown, Odogbolu.

Coming together to meet cousins, aunties, uncles and friends was beautiful.

A day to December 25, we we beside the house playing when man...
looking tattered, carrying a log of wood and one heavy cutlass passed our side.

One of my cousins who actually lives in the town and knows everybody whispered to us that we should all shout "Boda Kola"

We asked, what will happen? He said nothing.

The awa elenugboro shouted...
"Boooda Kola".

It was as if the man passing was waiting for us to shout that name. In a jiffy, he threw the log of wood away, picked his smoothly sharpened cutlass and started pursuing us. Children numbering about eight. We ran as fast as possible. Eni ori yo, o dile.

One thing that baffles me everyday in the lives of Christians is the way they dress.

Any dress you can't wear to church, you should never wear it for other outings.

A dress that is too revealing for church is also too revealing for owanbe. You can't choose when to be modest...
Except the wear is a special wear like beach wear, casual errand wears, bedroom wears etc.

"This gown is too short for church" is also too short for parties and outings. God is everywhere. What are you trying to do? You selective Christian.

You are not only a Christian when...
...you go to church. You are a Christian all the time.

A bad dress is a bad dress irrespective of where you are wearing it to.

As a Christian, you shouldn't select clothes because all your clothes are modest already. You pick and wear except you are bothered about colour.
