BREAKING: The Trump campaign is running Facebook ads portraying Bernie Sanders as the puppet master behind Joe Biden.

There’s a long, dangerous history of Jews being scapegoated as all-powerful puppet masters.

The "puppet master” characterization has been used to present Jews as shadowy manipulators, secretly orchestrating events on the political or financial main stage.

The @GOP used the same puppet master trope on their official website in July.

They accused Bernie Sanders, the most prominent Jewish American politician, of being Joe Biden’s puppet master — a classic antisemitic conspiracy theory.

It’s not an accident. It’s their platform.
The Trump campaign also sent a fundraising letter in July singling out Jewish donors & accusing Democrats of trying to “undermine” the “America First agenda.”

They claimed George Soros, Michael Bloomberg, & Tom Steyer are trying to "rig" the election.

In October 2018, @GOPLeader Kevin McCarthy tweeted a similar accusation: that three Jewish billionaires were trying to “buy” the midterm elections.

He posted this a day after a pipe bomb was found in Soros’ mail — just days before the Tree of Life shooting in Pittsburgh.
.@DonaldJTrumpJr used the same antisemitic “puppet master” trope during the impeachment hearings last fall.

He invoked the Soros conspiracy theory to discredit Rep. Adam Schiff — a prominent Jewish politician — and distract from the impeachment process.

The Trump campaign is doubling down on the antisemitic "puppet master" trope.

They're using it to generate fear and appeal to the worst elements of the GOP base.

They're desperate.

We won't let them get away with it.

We’ve been tracking this conspiracy theory in recent years as it’s been increasingly embraced by the Republican party and its pundits.

Yesterday a white 18 yo allegedly drove to Buffalo, NY to murder Black people. His manifesto cites the same conspiracy that incited the deadliest antisemitic massacre in American history in Pittsburgh in 2018 & the attack on immigrants in El Paso in 2019.

What’s this theory?

“Great replacement” is a racist and antisemitic conspiracy theory which promotes the lie that Jewish people are behind efforts to replace white Americans, often through immigration or elections.
