No, Rep. Rashida Tlaib did not say Michigan AG @dananessel charged pro-Palestinian protesters because the AG is Jewish. 🧵

metrotimes.com/news/fact-chec… The claim by @RashidaTlaib was that Michigan's AG, through her whole tenure, had never filed charges against protestors doing civil disobedience from other issues like police violence and climate until it came to Palestinians, a common institutional bias in the US.

2/ “We’ve had the right to dissent, the right to protest,” Tlaib says. “We’ve done it for climate, the immigrant rights movement, for Black lives, and even around issues of injustice among water shutoffs. But it seems that the attorney general decided if the issue was Palestine, she was going to treat it differently, and that alone speaks volumes about possible biases within the agency she runs.”

This is the same tactic the right used in 2018 — the same conspiracy theory that led to 11 Jews being killed in Pittsburgh three years ago.
