After huge demand, giving you distribution plots of interview (personality) & written marks in UPSC. First image is for interview marks in 2018. As clearly seen, marks of M (blue) are clearly shifted by around 10 marks higher from non-M (orange) candidates. Isn't it interesting?+
The written marks of 2018 have more interesting pattern. M marks (blue) show perfect bell curve (actually too perfect for small sample). But non-M marks (orange) seem as if half of candidates' have marks pulled towards lower to balance for higher marks of top half of candidates.+
In 2017, interview marks show same trend but margin of difference between M and non-M is lesser. 2016 has a bit uneven marks pattern for non-M but a smooth curve for M. Interesting!+
If we compare written marks for 2017 and 2016, they are close. I won't infer much given the sample size difference in M and non-M candidates. So instead of being too finicky, I would say they are broadly same.+
Note that this is what data shows. Why this is happening is not something data can suggest with this info. However I did plot category wise interview marks to see if story is different. But what I found was that for each of OBC and General, M still outperformed non-M every year+
I would also provide charts for written performance over years. I leave it to people to bring out inferences. What is important though is that on average OBC non-M seem to be having biggest shortfall compared to OBC M in interviews. It was 10.07 in 2018 and 9 in 2016.
Here is the thread of my earlier tweets on this issue. Some data has been revised as news agencies had published wrong list of selected Muslims earlier.
Since some are confused about what these graphs mean, here it is. These are distribution plots. X axis represents marks. Higher marks are on right side as in most graphs. Y axis is proportion of candidates who got particular marks. Put simply, these are histograms+
When you reduce the interval of each bar in histogram and represent proportion of candidates in y axis it becomes this distribution plot. You can interpret it just like any line graph for most purposes.

आप @thewire_in को छोड़िए। हिंदू घृणा वालों का कुसंग त्यागिये। आपका भी स्वागत है।
Hindi, English, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu and Tamil have more speakers than Urdu in India. (If we consider those who can "read" Urdu, the number will be much lesser)
Why does NCERT then publish books in Urdu? Why there is an Urdu promotion council under Central Govt since 1996?
Some morons justify neglect of Sanskrit by citing number of speakers. This is foolish. 1. Sanskrit is actually the most popular language of India because all Hindus use Sanskrit for religious/ cultural purposes 2. Almost all languages are derivatives of Sanskrit. +
3. Sanskrit is a framework. Technically, a form of Sanskrit can be spoken that is mutually intelligible with other Indian languages. Hence, Sanskrit is the root or the mother, other languages are children. And Urdu is a divisive imposition
There is no evidence of beef in any of the 4 Veda Samhitas. On contrary, there are ample mantras that declare cow as fountainhead of all prosperities. In fact, as per Vedas, nothing must be done to trouble animals.
Refer my book "Hindu's Fight for Mother cow" for details

Swami Shraddhanand was star of Satyagraha movement and faced near-death situations to make it success.
However he dissociated from Satyagraha for following reasons: 1. Gandhi accused Satyagrahis for being responsible for being shot by police (like Godhra victims)
2. Lala Shankar Lal was falsely accused of inciting mob to beat a Muslim police officer Faquir Mohammad. Gandhi wired an order asking Shankar Lal to offer no defense. This prejudiced the court against Satyagrahis.
3. Gandhi would sent posters in bulk asking Satyagrahis to get arrested if police wants so. Other experimental posters were also sent (from safe zone).
Swami Shraddhanand had to burn these posters
When Swami Shraddhanand was murdered by Abdul Rashid, Mohandas Gandhi said: "..I have called Abdul Rashid a brother and I repeat it. I do not even regard him as guilty of Swamiji’s murder. Guilty indeed are all those who excited feelings of hatred against one another."
Gandhi had been blaming Swamiji for launching the largest Shuddhi (Ghar Wapsi) movement in history and hence upsetting Islamists.
There is no way I can even pretend to admire a person who makes murderer of my Gurudev his brother. I share same views on Gandhi as BR Ambedkar
Congress party made sure that name of Swami Shraddhanand, the most influential and respected leader of his time to whom even Gandhi owes his brand image, is completely wiped off from education and historical references.
