Let's talk about the lying going on in this study that says "white evangelicals" have the highest levels of "racial resentment"

We need to understand why they do stuff like this an how to call it out.

2/
This study claims to measure "racial resentment" by making statements and asking people how much they agree. It claims that the way people answer the questions will indicate how much "racial resentment" they have

That is what they claim to do. They do something else entirely.
3/
When we look at the questions asked, you will quickly notice that none of the questions ask about resentment. In fact, the questions don't ask people how they feel about other races AT ALL.

Here are the questions, take a look then I'll show you how what they're doing
4/
Questions one asks if you agree that Blacks can "work their way up" and "overcome prejudice" the way other races in the have. The examples given are Italians, Irish, and Jews.

The study says if you agree, your agreement with that statement counts as racial resentment.
5/
To start off, in lumping the Irish and Italians in with Jews as examples of a groups working their way up, a study that claims to tell us about race relations in the U.S., ignores how differently Jews are treated from Irish and Italians in the U.S.

Don't worry, it gets worse:
6/
Because if you look at the population statistics and hate crime numbers, Jews are more then twice as likely as blacks to be the victims of hate crimes, and yet this study puts them in the same category as Italians.
7/
When their study implies Jews worked their way up the same way as the Irish and Italians they call that "rigorous research questions." If you think Blacks can work their way up the same way as the Irish and Italians that's "racial resentment."

The hypocrisy is killing me
8/
Questions 2,3, and 4 all have to do with why people think Blacks have worse economic and social mobility outcomes than whites. If your answer places the burden on the individuals rather then slavery and discrimination (I don't btw) they say you have "racial resentment"
9/
I happen to think discrimination and slavery have a lot to do with why there is disparity in outcomes between Blacks and Whites, but that's not because I have "low racial resentment" it's because I'm not a libertarian individualist.

Do you see how the game is played???
10/
The questions test for whether or not you think the outcomes are the result of individual behavior or the result of discrimination and slavery. If you say the outcomes are the result of individual behavior they use that as evidence of "racial resentment."
11/
That's the trick:
If you blame behavior and not discrimination you must have racial resentment
It's not that you're a Rugged individualist
It's not that you think America has made huge strides
It's not that you think people can only control themselves and should make it work
12/
This is of course, nonsense and I say this as a Canadian who supports locally funded single payer healthcare and a strong social support system.

It's not that I agree with libertarians or rugged individualists (I don't) it's that I know those beliefs are not...
13/
the product of "racial resentment." Those beliefs are about worldview and how you think individuals and society ought to interact, not race.
But the trick the authors of the study pull is to use those beliefs as a proxy for racial resentment.

This is nonsense.
14/
The study assumes that individualist accounts of societal outcomes, which is what conservatives use, are evidence of racial resentment. Then using that assumption the study finds, low and behold, white evangelicals (a conservative demographic) have "racial resentment."
15/
Then they publish this nonsense, and then tout their claim that white evangelicals have racial resentment without telling people about the definitions, assumptions, and questions that were to come to that conclusion.

This is laundering ideology under the guise of research.
16/
Then they put finding in tweets like the one shown here. It's dishonest.

(no, putting the questions in a follow up tweet without ever explaining how the questions asked back up the conclusion found is not transparency).
17/
A LOT of social research does stuff like this. So please be aware of it as you use peer reviewed research. Always check the definitions and reasoning so you can see how they achieved their results, don't just skip to the conclusion.

The biggest problem with letting illegal immigrants stay is that it is unjust. Why does nobody make this simple point?

It is unjust to ask immigrants who come legally to work for years to become citizens while letting those who enter illegally to be rewarded with citizenship.
When there is a set clear of fair rules for how immigration is to be done in a in orderly fashion, it is unjust to allow illegal immigrants to break the rules, skip to the front of the line, and then be rewarded with visas or citizenship just because left wing activists demand it
It is unjust to allow illegal immigrants to be rewarded for breaking the law and skipping to the front of the line. It doesn't matter if you feel empathy for the person doing the law breaking and the line skipping - it is unjust to reward that person with residency in the country

Leftists are having a tough time with Venezuelans celebtrating Maduro's arrest and the persians overthrowing Irans Islamic regime, because it means the people are rejecting both the communist and islamic halves of the leftists new islamo-communist/third world marxist coalition.
The left wanted to harnass the energy around the palestinian issue and use it to advance western marxism. So, they created an alliance between western marxist activists and Islamic fundamentalists/Hamas supporters using third-world marxism and postcolonial theory as the bridge.
They thought by getting the popular support of global south "subaltern" third-world groups, along with the support of the Islamic world, they would have a coalition big enough the challenge the United States, and which they would control by virtue of having organized it.

The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) created a DEI program focused on:

-Power, privilege, and oppression
-Understanding microaggressions
-Centering Native Voices in Atmospheric Sciences
-Knowledge that "does not come from science"

Wokeness at NCAR

The NCAR had two programs. The first was called UNIEON (which stands for "UCAR/NCAR Equity and Inclusion program"), and the second was a program they funded called "rising voices," which was about bringing "indigenous knowledge" into science.

And it's funded by tax dollars. Image

3/
The goal of the DEI program (UNIEON) was to bring DEI into the NCAR, and then get the participants to start implementing the DEI ideology via "Bystander intervention." That is, it invites people to insert themselves into other peoples social interactions in order to spread DEI Image

If you want to understand influencer behavior, read Former WWE executive Eric Bischoffs' book "Controversy Creates Cash" about the inner workings of pro wrestling.

He said controversial things, regardless of morality, generates attention, creates buzz, and sells tickets.
2/
The title of the book comes from a chapter where he discussed bringing in Dennis Rodman for an event because Rodman was controversial and "controversy creates cash." Much of what is happening online, including the Charlie Kirk conspiracies, is driven by exactly this dynamic.
3/
While there is certainly more to it (parasocial relationships with influencers, foreign influencers, etc) one of the major factors that incentivizes outlandish claims and conspiracy theorizing is that the controversy generates attention, creates buzz, and drives engagement.

There's a genre of woke-posting where they state their views as if they were talking to toddlers as a way of making their views look obvious (even kids get it!), grabbing moral authority (I'm the teacher!), and leveraging condescension to imply their opponents are beneath them
2/
These women are not actually trying to explain anything, the explanation is just a front for their condescending tone. The real goal is to "put you in your place" by treating you like a toddler so they can grab the social high-ground in the conversation
3/
The reason they do this is because by adopting the posture of a kindergarten teach it forces you fight through layers of snark, sarcasm, and condescending tone while being put in the social position of a child talking to a teacher.

Making the Friend/Enemy distinction the fundamental axis of politics is to reject the Aristotelian claim at the heart of western civilization that says politics is about human flourishing and pursuing the good, and to replace it with the political ideology of 3rd world tribalism.
If you want The West to turn into Somalia, tell people that the fundamental distinction all political motives and actions revolve around is "who is on my team and who isn't," and the goal is to reward your friends while harming enemies.

Cause that's how Somalia works
There are a whole lot of people running around acting like "friend/enemy" is some kind of deep idea, or profound simplification of politics, when in fact it's little more than the rejection of the grand political tradition of western civilization in favor do 3rd world tribalism.
