First Minister @NicolaSturgeon: "Firstly, the total number of positive cases reported yesterday was 290. This number represents 4% of people newly tested and the total number of cases now is 23,573." #FMQs
FM: "I can confirm that 112 of those cases were in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 52 in Lanarkshire and 47 in Lothian. The remaining 79 are across nine other health board areas." #FMQs
FM: "I can also confirm that 52 people are in hospital, which is an increase on the number of one from yesterday. And five people are in intensive care, which is one fewer than the number yesterday." #FMQs
FM: "In the past 24 hours, no deaths were registered of patients testing positive for coronavirus, and the total number of deaths under this measurement remains 2,501." #FMQs
FM: "We are also considering carefully whether any further restrictions will be necessary for all or parts of the country, to help in the supression of the virus." #FMQs
FM: "In the week since it was launched, more than 1m people have now downloaded the Protect Scotland app. And I want to thank everyone that has done so." #FMQs
FM: "We know with one million people that the app can make a difference, and I can report already more than 100 people have been advised to isolate as a result of using it.

So I would encourage everyone to download it, as it is an important way to help us fight the virus." #FMQs
FM: "Please remember FACTS.

🇫Face coverings in enclosed spaces
🇦Avoid crowded places
🇨Clean hands and surfaces regularly
🇹Two metre distancing
🇸Self isolate and book a test if you have symptoms" #FMQs
FM: "Of course, we want to continue to listen to the victims of crime and reflect on steps that can be taken.

We must always seek to ensure that the victims of crime's voices are heard but also that their experiences help to reform the justice system." #FMQs
FM: "Anyone commiting a crime that results in a court fine is now charged an additional penalty - the victim surcharge.

The money is banked in the victim surcharge fund and used to provide direct support to victims and families." #FMQs
FM: "I think our test and protect system is working extremely well and I think that's a great credit to the experts and contact tracers across the country.

Well over 90% of index cases - people who test positive and their contacts - have been traced." #FMQs
FM: "I think it is important to be up front with people on where we have challenges and that's what I have been trying to do." #FMQs
FM: "We know that visiting people in care homes is a fundmental part of the health & wellbeing for those that live there - and that is even more so for those living with dementia.

So, it's so difficult for us to read and see families who cannot interact in the normal way." #FMQs
FM: "But these restrictions are ultimately in place for us to protect care home residents and save lives. And it is important that we continue to recognise the risks of communal live and of infections getting into care homes." #FMQs
FM: "That said, the guidance on families and relatives entering care homes remains under regular on-going review.

And we do look at what more protections we could put in place to allow for a more normal visiting regime in care homes." #FMQs
FM: "I take all of these issues really seriously. And probably none have been more difficult, or upseting, than the range of issues we have had to take around care homes.

We all want to allow families to visit each other as safely and as quickly as possible." #FMQs
FM: "House parties right now are a danger, they are a danger to people's health and frankly are a danger to life.

Police Scotland responded to 405 house parties last weekend, so that demonstrates that we still need to get the seriousness of this issue across to people." #FMQs
FM: "We have announced £80m in funding for the additional recruitment of more teachers. This will fund around 1,400 additional teachers and 200 support staff this year, which we hope and believe will give more support to those in our schools. #FMQs
FM: "I have many and varied concerns about the Internal Market Bill. Firstly, it breaches international law, something that the Advocate General clearly couldn't stomach and resigned his post.

Unfortunately the Scottish Tories just seem to roll over and accept it." #FMQs
FM: "Secondly, it is a power grab on this parliament. It gives the UK government the ability to override or undermine the spending priorities of a democratically elected Scottish Government, supported by a democratically elected Scottish Parliament." #FMQs
FM: "The Internal Market Bill is a full frontal, no holds barred assault on devolution. And for those that say, the leader of the SNP would say that.

They should listen to the union-supporting Labour First Minister of Wales who has the same opinion of this bill." #FMQs Image
FM: "The only way in future to protect the Scottish Parliament is for it to become a normal independent parliament, which I think will happen sooner rather than later." #FMQs
FM: "Anyone who is attempting to scam with Test and Protect is despicable - which is probably the mildest word I can think of to describe them.

We've been reminded that there is a small number of people that will seek to exploit any situation for their own gain." #FMQs
FM: "It is really important for people to understand what a legitimate contact tracer will do and will not do.

A contact tracer will ask you for information only about your movements and people you've been in close proximity to." #FMQs
FM: "A legitimate contact tracer will never, ever ask you for your bank details or your computer passwords. They will never try to sell you anything, they will never tell you, you have to pay for a test or their services."
FM: "Legitimate contact tracers will also always call from the same number, and that telephone number is 0800 030 8012 and they will give you the option of hanging up and calling them back on that number so that you can verify that they are legitimate." #FMQs
FM: "As with all types scams, anybody that becomes a victim should contact the police - the Police Scotland number 101 - and if you need more advice on this that is available from Advice Direct Scotland." #FMQs advice.scot/?gclid=CjwKCAj…
FM: "I do think the furlough scheme has to be extended and I hope everybody across this chamber will back that call. I know many organisations across the country back that call." #FMQs
FM: "Brexit will have a bad impact on Scotland's economy, leaving without a deal will have an even worse impact on Scotland's economy.

And even with a deal, given it will only be the most minimal of deals, will mean there is an avoidable negative impact on our economy." #FMQs
FM: "This UK Gov't seems to be intend on trashing the UK's reputation internationally. To have a bill that threatens peace in Northern Ireland, makes it more likely that Scotland will become an independent country and egregiously breaches international law - says it all." #FMQs
FM: "Even people on their own side are seeing how unacceptable this is - with the exception of the Scottish Tories who seem to have the highest tolerance of anybody for all of the dreadful things that the UK government does." #FMQs

First Minister @HumzaYousaf at #FMQs: "Douglas Ross says we all have a zero tolerance approach to hate crime. I'm not entirely convinced, when you take money from a racist misogynist and then refuse to give it back, that is a zero tolerance approach whatsoever."
HY: "Those stirring-up offences for racial hatred have existed since 1986. We are simply extending those offences to other marginalised groups." #FMQs
HY: "I think it's important for Douglas Ross to be honest, to tell people, who is it he thinks is not deserving of those protections, in the same way I've been protected because of my race since 1986?" #FMQs

.@MhairiBlack: "For two reasons I think we should scrap the Rwanda policy all together.

First of all, from a moral compass. I think it is a barbaric system, there is no such thing as an illegal human being - especially not those who are fleeing war and persecution." #bbcqt
.@MhairiBlack: "Even if you just look at it from a financial argument. The UK Gov'ts own figures show that the taxpayer will pay £169,000 per migrant - that's to send one person to Rwanda.

It's going to cost £1.8bn to deport all 11,000 people that have arrived this year." #bbcqt
@MhairiBlack .@MhairiBlack: "If the Tories are serious about spending money in good places, it would have been a good idea over the last decade not to keep implementing austerity, not to hand out COVID contracts out to their pals for PPE that wasn't fit." #bbcqt

.@MhairiBlack: "The DPM said it was his duty to furnish people with 'the facts that are available' in regards to Brexit.

Brexit Britain faces higher food prices, a lack of workers, a shrinking economy & a decline in living standards. Why is he happy to ignore those facts?" #PMQs Image
.@MhairiBlack: "The only thing more deluded than that defence of Brexit, is Labour's support for it.

Just today, the world's fourth largest car manufacturer said Brexit was 'a threat to our export business and the sustainability of our of UK manufacturing options'." #PMQs

📉 Brexit is making us poorer - from rising food prices, to the UK economy being the worst hit of all major economies.

🤷 The evidence is so clear, that even Nigel Farage now thinks Brexit is a failure.

🧵 Why won't Keir Starmer admit it too? A thread:

snp.org/brexit-makes-p…
📣 Keir Starmer is now more of a Brexit supporter than Nigel Farage.

📉 Despite the clear economic damage of Brexit, with the poorest in society bearing the worst brunt, Labour are in denial of this reality.

👇 Let's have a closer look at the impacts. Image
👷 UK workers have suffered the longest and deepest wage squeeze in decades, and the slowest wage growth in the G7.

🔎 This is largely driven by UK wages falling behind inflation – which has been significantly increased as a result of Brexit. Image

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 We're determined to ensure that no child grows up in poverty anywhere in Scotland.

✂️ While Tory cuts and Brexit push families into poverty, we’re working hard to tackle it.

🧵 Here's a thread on just some of the bold actions we're taking.

snp.org/heres-how-the-…
🤝 We've introduced the Scottish Child Payment, which the Child Poverty Action group called a "game-changer" in our fight against child poverty.

📈 Last year, we've raised by 150%, to £25 per child per week, and extended the payment to all eligible under 16s. The Scottish Child Payment ...
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 The Scottish Child Payment is the most ambitious anti-poverty measure in the UK, and Scotland is the only part of the UK where this additional support payment is available.

👇 It's a tale of two governments on two fundamentally different paths. Image

.@StephenFlynnSNP: "Can I ask the Prime Minister to outline the safe and legal route available to a child refugee seeking to flee Sudan and come to the United Kingdom?" #PMQs Image
.@StephenFlynnSNP: "To be clear, Mr Speaker, children in Sudan are already dying.

Now whether it's a Tory slogan to "Stop the Boats" or a Labour slogan to 'Stop Small Boats' - we need some more humanity in this debate. Rather than a race to the bottom." #PMQs Image
.@StephenFlynnSNP: "So can I ask the Prime Minister, now that he has confirmed that there is no safe and legal route.

Will he therefore confirm that it would be his government's intention to detain and deport a child refugee who flees Sudan and comes to the UK?" #PMQs
