(1/6) Okay, so I have a really complicated explanation. I've resisted talking about it, but with the new showing I think I can talk about this a bit more.
RE8 was playable from start to finish over a year ago, as I've shared before in 2019 there was another game that was RE8, but
(2/6) that game was years off, & this game was received INSANELY well both internally & with testers, so this became RE8 again & got additional time for polish, to update the graphics, etc.
At the start of this year the game WAS 100% a cross-gen game, & aiming for a January 2021
(3/6) release date. Hell, I even know a number of the Ambassador tests they did, peeps were playing RE8 on a PS4 Pro.
But Capcom have been...Weird with RE8. Not even bad, but weird. How I best understand it is the loading speeds of next-gen consoles became desirable for the game
(4/6) because there was some ideas for reality warping & cool hallucination ideas they originally had to cut because last-gen loading didn't really make it work well, but with next-gen on the table with faster loading it was possible. So they focused their efforts on next-gen
(5/7) & also allowed them to do a lot more with shadows, graphical effects, higher character models, etc.
But I've heard more recently they've been second-guessing that a bit. They're debating that choice. And I know this won't make sense to everyone outside-in, but the PS5 ver.
(6/7) of RE8 is actually having a lot of problems. The next-gen improvements they're making work fine in the PC & Xbox X versions, but are really affecting the PS5 version. They're debating to step down on the affects & features, trying to figure out what's going on here, & with
(7/7) these hiccups & thinking of sales debating if they should go all-in on Next-Gen for the benefits it brings to the game, or cut back to make more widely available, they've even been giving some questionnaires to testers including asking about the next-gen or cross-gen focus.

Missing some Tweet in this thread? You can try to
force a refresh
(1/??) Here's my breakdown of Resident Evil Requiem's third official trailer, which was also the official reveal of Leon S. Kennedy in RE9.
Just as a note, this is a Leon hype trailer so Grace steps down a bit in focus, but I don't believe Leon will overshadow Grace in the game.
(2/??) We open up with Dr. Victor Gideon, who's name we learn in this trailer, listening to a gramophone alone with a piano melody playing. We establish he has a like of music.
RE loves to use classical music, but I don't quite recognize this. If someone else does, please share!
(3/??) It gives to me a vibe of "Farewell", memoirs of goodbyes, & for Victor maybe a sad memory he's sitting with.
With this new trailer drop, Capcom changed the game synopsis, & the previous "cinematic action" stuff they talked about on reveal now specifically mentions Leon.
(1/12) Thank you for asking that question as it allows me to talk about something I've wanted to for a while. And by the tweet count, I'm sure you can tell it's a doozy, but I think it's really interesting if you're into Resident Evil & behind the scenes stuff.
(2/12) stuff I know 100%. Resident Evil Revelations 3 was originally greenlit in Summer of 2017. It was not being developed by Capcom, but an external studio (I'd guess TOSE, the same people who ghost developed Rev 1 & 2, but just a guess), though like Rev 1 & 2 Capcom peeps of
(3/12) course had a hand in directing, producing, specific roles, etc. But the majority of the development team were out of house from Capcom.
It 100% cancelled in 2022. Capcom has 5-year meetings about Resident Evil projects, to catch up & review how the last 5 years went, to
(1/??) Here's my tweet thread for Resident Evil Requiem's press embargo lift on August 20th, 2025. A lot of outlets got to play Wrenwood Hotel & Rhode Hill Care Center parts of RE9, a LOT of new gameplay videos, impressions, & details. Go over interesting tidbits in this thread.
(2/??) First, Resident Evil Requiem at the start of you playing let's you pick if you want to play with one perspective or the other (can change any time from the options menu), or "Changing Perspective" to change the camera based on which camera the devs recommend for each scene
(3/??) Here's a bit of the introduction to Grace's worst nightmare, her stalker, who is seemingly a mutated for of her mother, Alyssa. She is nearly blind & can only survive in the dark, but is very sensitive to sound.
(1/??) So here's my breakdown of the announcement materials of Resident Evil Requiem (aka RE9quiem, Resident Evil 9, RE9 is the short form I'll use), releasing on February 27th, 2026. We'll start with stuff surrounding the trailer, then do the trailer analysis, then talk rumors.
(2/??) Capcom trolled a bit leading up to its announcement, but I we're first going to look back at the two little videos they played before RE9uiems reveal, as they do actually contain clues to RE9 within them.
Capcom opened up with a sale announcement that RE8 & RE:4 were both
(3/??) on sale, being delivered to us by Maggie Robertson, the voice actress of Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village.
Maggie teases a bit of the teases they'll be doing during the Summer Game Fest, "Wait long?" to the long wait of new RE news.
(1/??) Time for another one of my long tweet wall trailer breakdowns, this time for Silent Hill f's new game reveal trailer. Going to just go over anything I notice or think about what's presented in the trailer just released for the game.
If you want to read my breakdown of the
(2/??) first Silent Hill f teaser trailer, you can read it here:
I'll try not to tread too much similar ground, and do have a lot to say now that we're given a closer look at what Silent Hill f actually is now.
(3/??) Because this is a brand new story, we'll start with the official plot synopsis we're given. Set in 1960s Japan, in a fictional rural town named Ebisugaoka, which is based off the real world town of Kanayama, Gero in the Gifu Prefecture and how it was in the 1960s.
(1/6) So here's some educated speculation, but it IS speculation, on how I personally believe Resident Evil stuff is going to go down in the next couple years.
So Screen Gems/Constantin Films have a contract that to retain the rights to the Resident Evil brand for film making,
(2/6) they need to release a new Resident Evil film every 5 years (fiscal). So the new Resident Evil film directed by Zach Cregger that starts filming pretty soon basically needs to release before fiscal year 2026 is up, since Welcome to Raccoon City released in 2021.
It's been
(3/6) heavily rumored/leaked this film is an adaption of Resident Evil Zero, with Rebecca & Billy starring in it.
The Switch successor is also on the cusp of being revealed, likely released this year. I think it's highly likely that Capcom will strike a marketing deal w/Nintendo
