Critical theory is infecting everything. I’ve seen threads covering the impact on education (k-12 and university), the military, and the federal government. This thread is going to highlight the impact on medicine and the medical field.
On September 15, 2019 the JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) posted the results of a poll showing that 68.9% of respondents disagree with the following statement: “Medical school should produce physician scientists, not physician social justice activists”. Image
It is important to stop here and look at social justice in terms of critical theory in order to better understand social justice activists. has the following notes on social justice: NewDiscourses.com

Image
Image
Image
As far back as 2012 there was a push to create social justice activists in medicine. There were “efforts to encourage medical students go beyond cultural competence and become fluent in the critical consciousness" 2012 Apr; 71(4 Suppl 1): 64–67"ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…
The key phrasing in the journal article is “become fluent in the critical consciousness”. More information on critical consciousness from : NewDiscourses.com

Image
Image
How have those in the medical field done with adopting a critical consciousness? Here is the first example - a February 2019 article in the NEJM by Dr. Deborah Cohan: nejm.org/doi/full/10.10…
This 2019 article discusses “woke” medical schools: wsj.com/articles/take-…

Adopting critical theory is also causing uproars about journal articles in the medical field. In this thread Wokal Distance explained what activists in the medical field did to Dr. Wang:
The fact that medical field has gone woke has lead to activism over health; even during a pandemic:

Image
Image
Wokal mentioned that "racism is a health issue" allows for hijacking the resources, credibility, and mission of the medical community in the service of the woke political agenda. Here The Dunedain Ranger did a thread on the ARPHA bill:
The fact that the medical field has actively adopted critical theory and a critical consciousness is very alarming.
Thank you to @ConceptualJames, @HPluckrose, @MikeNayna, @peterboghossian, @wokal_distance, @BenjaminABoyce and @realchrisrufo for your work explaining and calling out critical theory!
