kind of interesting: Trump started using metaphors of "Flare-Ups" and "embers" in Dec 2019/Jan 2019. No consistent use of these terms earlier in any media transcripts.
I wonder why he chose to use THOSE words associated with fire instead of "outbreak/cluster?" @sewimperfect
"Cluster" is most certainly less threatening than any direct fire- or disease-linked metaphors...
Keeping in mind Trump doesn't use creative linguistic device in other areas (saving his tongue for sexual assault) might there have been another reason FIRE was on his brain in Jan?
Projection?
Not making accusations, but 'irrationally blame someone else for shit you're responsible for' is definitely a play straight outta his playbook....
Note: this site is the best single source for transcripts I've found thus far. Search for related terms yourself and see if there are any other patterns you can identify... and let me know if there's a phrase I missed :D
It's kind of weird that I haven't heard smart people like @AWeissmann_ et al focusing on how Trump defaulted on $640M in debt to Deutsche bank, THEN submitted fraudulent statements to secure future loans.
of course, maybe I just haven't heard it discussed...
but that - but with Deutsche execs having vowing to never lend to him again - that seems a more significant motivation to falsify statements than simply lower interest rates.
Just lost my thread about I-95 in Philly, so I'll just share these images while I decide if I should write it up again.
Something smelled off, especially because of Higgins' advice to "Know your bridges" two days prior...so I poked around and found even more stink...
familiar?
Yup. The I-95 crash was about two blocks from THAT crematorium and adult bookstore-adjacent Four Seasons Total Landscapingwhere Rudy Giuliani held his press conference in 2020.
That being said, I'm not questioning the driver.
I'm wondering what TK Transport was doing transporting 8500 gallons of fuel on the interstate when they apparently have no active licensing or insurance with the government....
When I heard female gunman at a private school, this is what that made me think I'd find.
Not to justify, whatsoever... but would be an interesting track for any interested journalists to pursue - racketeering to protect leaders sexually abusing children. casetext.com/case/davis-v-c…
Look for a solution rather than a fight, @ALALibrary :
If some parents are concerned about 'questionable' books, let parents manage their own children's access.
Schools provide 'unsubscriptions' that keep those kids from checking out books parents don't want.
Integrate those 'unsubscriptions' into the library management system, and if a student tries to check out a book they shouldn't, simply don't allow attempts to check out books to be completed...
Or keep a list taped to the desk. Add a 'restriction' sticker to their student id.
or, perhaps, send an email receipt to parents when their child checks out ANY book and let them ensure it is returned the next day.
