Sir, the situation of the Malams teaching in our Islamiyya schs
is heart touching & they re in dire need of assistance. Thousands of these Malams that have been teaching us our Deen today are starving, because they are career teachers & the closure of these Islamic schools means the monthly N1000 to N2000 they receive from each child is no
more, and thus their means of sustenance is being halted. While we understand the rationale behind the closure of these schools, we also believe that the state govt can make plans for reopening them as we have seen in many states in Nigeria and in other parts of the world.
Similarly, the Study Circles which we hold in our Mosques, where majorly we learn the religion from are places where more control can be achieved especially that the attendants are mostly adults. The reality sir is that, the new normal might be here for many more months or years
and it means we have to devise means of living with the virus while we continue with our daily activities.
May Allah give you and all our leaders the wherewithal to discharge their responsibilities with the fear of God & justice.
