Democracy is in danger when public mandate is subverted. Like in Maharashtra. Not when the government people chose takes the decisions they said they would.
Democracy is in danger when opposition MLAs are lured into the ruling party, even after the ruling party enjoys a comfortable majority. Like in Telangana.
Democracy is not in danger when a few loudmouths scream what they want to. It is in danger when MPs get violent to make sure they have their way. Like how Sonia's MP used Pepper Spray. Or when @derekobrienmp charged towards the chair.
If democracy is in danger everytime Modi takes a decision, then what was it when Sonia, who did not even win 272 seats, made decisions for 10 years?

If one were to do a pre-Malini and post-Malini comparison of The Hindu, the "entrenched bias" that @MaliniP talks about, was actually entrenched during her powerful tenure.
The paper had become virulently anti-BJP under her tenure. Sample this article by her in 2018. (1/n)
During her powerful decade, the story of Muslim girl being denied rental accommodation was made up. No apologies.
A detailed article on "Corporate-Hindutva alliance" was published (to achieve what ends?)
Tried to foment trouble by saying Muslims of being bludgeoned. (2/n)
The Editors Guild is often in the news. Do you know what the Editors Guild actually does? Nothing. They do nothing meaningful at all.
A short thread on what they do (or rather don't do!). (1/n)
Editors Guild came up with a "Code of Practice for Journalists" way back in 2007.
And that too, they copied from Britain. These people can't even write guidelines without relying on what the British did. No wonder they are so servile. (2/n)
Editors Guild is in the news when they release statements. Even that, they don't do it regularly. Since January, they have released only 11 statements. 11 in the entire year so far!
Delving into the content is yawn inducing- there is nothing novel in them either. (3/n)
Since @svaradarajan is the flavour of the season now, and since most seem to be thinking that this is the 1st and the only time he has lied, fabricated and spread bile - I think we should take a trip down memory lane about this guy.
"What business does the Prime Minister have to build roads in 6 lakh villages in the country? Aapko kya kaam hai bhai?".
He is an ardent opposer of PM Gram Sadak Yojana. Will scrapping it be part of his new party, Bharat Rashtra Samiti's, manifesto?
In 2018, KCR thundered:
"What business does the central government have in hospitals, schools, education, municipalities?"
Will KCR announce the scrapping of some of these ministries as part of his new party, Bharat Rashtra Samiti's, manifesto?
In 2022, KCR thundered:
“The average speed of our truck is less than the average speed of trucks in the world. We need a new Constitution to increase the speed of our trucks on the road. What is wrong in what I am asking"?
Will KCR include this in the manifesto of his new BRS?
1. Alleged comedian Munawar was getting cancelled everywhere because of his crass comments on the Gods of Hinduism.
2. Telangana CM's son, KCR, invites Munawar to Hyderabad to exhibit his alleged comedy. (1/n)
3. Raja Singh threatens to protest and cancel Munawar's show. KCR provides 100s of police as protection to Munawar's venue (some say police were more in attendance than the audience).
4. Raja Singh releases another video, using exact same cuss words that Munawar uses (2/n)
5. Raja Singh also refers to characters from Munawar's religion, without taking names, in his video (not very well made, IMO, but that's not the point).
6. KCR not only arrests Raja Singh, but also arrests BJP State President Bandi Sanjay and stops his padayatra. (3/n)
