People asking me (in emails, etc) where their money would go far, in flipping the Senate. Like, the candidates who really can use more money, and are competitive.

There's a few I can think of, which I will list below.

Feel free to share!

[THREAD]
1. In Georgia, @ReverendWarnock is JUST on the cusp of making the runoff. Standing in his way is Joe Lieberman's son, who refuses to drop out, to help push Warnock over the top. So, go donate and help give Warnock a push.

2. In Alaska, @DrAlGrossAK is one of those quirky non-politician candidates who is really primed to flip the seat (PPP had it 43-43) if he can get the help he needs. Dollars will go VERY far there.

3. In Mississippi (yes, Mississippi), @MikeEspyMS is really in good shape, down only about 5 in internal polling, but needs some more funding to keep running strong. Dollars will go a LONG way, down there.

4. For some reason, people are looking past @mjhegar in Texas. DON'T. Especially with Biden running strong, this is a very winnable seat. CBS has it at 5! But Texas is expensive, so MJ can really use the help.

There are a lot of great races out there, from Greenfield in IA to Bullock in MT to Harrison in SC, but they're doing pretty well, financially. Still, I would absolutely recommend donating to them, as well as Cunningham in NC, Kelly in AZ, and McGrath in KY, if you can!

Elon Musk has Tweeted 88 (white supremacist code for Heil Hitler) to which they replied with 14 (code for their 14 Words), trotted out the Jewish Puppet Master trope, and then posted a wink to anti-Semites with a cartoon similar to the one they use, in reference to Vindman. @ADL ImageImageImage
Of course, all done with "plausible deniability" which is standard. But he has tweeted 88 and deleted it before. He very well knows what the dumbass frog cartoons are associated with when talking about Jews (but didn't use THE Pepe one). It's all textbook anti-Semitic trolling.
All this happened in 2016, among the banned accounts he personally reactivated. They'd constantly harass Jews and then call the harassed Jews paranoid. It was all a game to them. Musk is copying it all to a Tee, and he very well knows it. And they're loving it. And HE loves it.

LOL @politico poll came back good for Democrats, so Politico wrote a headline and story that shat all over their own poll as a freak outlier.
I mean, if you think your polls are wrong, then fire your pollsters and stop printing the poll results. But if you're going to publish them, maybe interview the pollsters on why they're finding something quite different than others. It might be a really interesting story!
Look, I don't think the Dems are +5, but for all Politico knows, they're sitting on the Trafalgar of 2022 -- the one pollster who gets it right. But instead of delving into it, they just flat out dismiss it because it doesn't match the narrative they want. So, shit, don't poll!

There needs to concurrently be harsh and swift punishment for insurrectionists and a coming together between Democrats and Republicans who choose to stand up against coup attempts, like yesterday's.

In an ideal world, this is what would happen:

1/
Vice President Pence would get a majority of the cabinet to invoke the 25th amendment, today.

Acting President Pence would immediately invite Joe Biden to hold the inauguration at the White House, to ensure safety and security.

2/
Concurrently, Democrats and Republicans who believe in our Constitution would refer the #SeditionCaucus to ethics committees in the House and Senate, for expulsion. Top of the list would be @tedcruz and @HawleyMO. But also @GOPLeader @RepMoBrooks and @SteveScalise and more.

Terrible, yet likely common, #COVID19 take from my wife's extended family, in FL.

Long story short, they're Trumpers, anti-mask, etc. And, of course, their whole household got COVID. But, gets worse.

1/
First, the fam says they only have mild symptoms, what's the big deal? Then, their uncle got it and went to the hospital. Their reaction? Well, he is old, so that isn't a surprise. No big deal, he'll be fine.

2/
Then, they say they have flu like symptoms, but still think it isn't a big deal. What's all the fear about?

Flash forward to the other day. They now say it is horrible and they were wrong. They can barely breathe, but FL hospitals are trying to not take them in.

Fact is, no one knows what will happen to impeachment numbers in polls, if Congress begins inquiry hearings.

It is all guessing! But, it was the same in 1973, when polling said, after the Saturday Night Massacre, only 37 percent favored removal of Nixon.

A THREAD
2/ According to WashPost polling, the same number of people, today, back impeachment, as did those after Nixon went on a firing spree.

Back then, like today, Dems (and everyone else) had no idea if pursuing impeachment would change those numbers, or backfire.
3/ What Dems did know is that the smoke was thick around Nixon, and investigation and impeachment hearings may find the fire -- so it was their duty to pursue it. They had basically NO GOP support at the outset.

The idea that they had a cooperative GOP for impeachment is a myth.

THREAD: As someone who spins for a living, Melania's trip to Texas, and the show put on for her, is fairly standard stuff, to spin a crisis. I don't fault her team for spinning it, but reporters' job is to make it tough on spinmeisters (like me), not blindly report her trip 1/
2/ So here are some questions reporters should ask Melania's team, if they haven't already.

- How was this facility chosen? Why is she not visiting the tents or the facilities with cages?

- Does she have any plans to go to the tents of facilities with cages?
3/ more Q's for Melania

- Do you know if the center prepared for her visit? How far in advance did they know she was coming?

- Did Melania visit every child there, or just ones selected for her to see?
