Humans desire to solve & make the unfamiliar familiar

Start of a webinar, video, article

Show a random image: 'x'
& hook why it's important

Then say: "but before we quickly need to understand...."

They will stick around unconsciously wanting to resolve what 'x' was
Example of this 'hook & cliffhanger'

=====
"Selling or convincing people to do things, I could never imagine. It feels weird to me...

I would struggle until I found this ONE THING

That had people already 'sold' before they even saw any sort of sales pitch....
"...imagine how easy it would be if there was no friction or awkward hard selling

Rather, they're already sold and your role becomes more so a payment collector....."
====

Notice I hooked the 'ONE THING' & begin to hype it
Unconsciously people become glued to the screen to hear what this one thing is

They want the mystery solved

The explaining and hyping and elaborating makes them want to hear it even more

Too much hype & they'll be frustrated
Too little hype & they won't care

Seeing a massive widespread problem - hiring a sales guy WAY too early

This is a symptom of having a weak/non-existent inbound lead generation process

Here's the problem...
Having a weak/non-existent inbound lead generation process is the root of the problem

Guys are closing at 10-20% wasting A LOT of time, hours of their life on calls that should have never gotten through in the first place

So they think they solution is to "hire a closer"
But the truth is....they're not hiring the sales guy because the timing is truly right for that hire

They're hiring the sales guy because they're exhausted being on the phones and want to free up their time

The real problem here is a terrible lead generation system

Stop booking unqualified leads (thread)

Use a double filtration system 👇🏼
Unless you've worked full-time in sales for a few years, you're probably not a stone cold closer

That's totally fine,
Point of bringing that up is - you shouldn't be booking calls with unqualified people thinking your going to magically say something to close the deal
If you're selling your own stuff you have control over the marketing

Meaning you don't need to be a sales savage - you control the quality of leads that book in

Marketing departments really screw over sales guys because they're incentivized to book as many 'leads' as possible

"give free value" is a long-term play to make future sales easier

If it's required to make a sale....I got bad news for you

Your offer is not compelling enough to stand on it's own - you're just building social capital and cashing it in via reciprocity in cycles
What business 'gives free value'?

They don't until you pay them - the value begins AFTER the sale

Do restaurants give you free stuff to get you in?
Does coke give free drinks?
Do airlines give free flights?
Do apartments give you free housing?

NO, they make a good product
Guys are unconsciously FORCED to do it because their offers and positioning are trash

It's friendzoning yourself, trying to weasel into a sale via reciprocity & cashing in on your 'free value'

Overcompensating for a weak offer, trying to hide behind a ton of content

"Get X...guaranteed"
"Get X or you don't pay!"

That's the signal. The race to the bottom has begun.

Many names you see making a few bucks now will be gone and forgotten next year (THREAD)
It's not that guarantees are bad, however they are signaling a much larger problem

Guys are running the exact same copy paste offers

Playing the commodity game

What do guys playing the commodity game do to stand out?....
They attempt to differentiate by making bigger claims

Lose 10 pounds in 30 days

How to sell anything with irrational angles (thread)
Here's the problem...

I'd sit in my chair to get some work done, but I always had to get up after 20 minutes because my back would start hurting

This led to picking up a REALLY bad habit
I'd then go lay on my bed to relieve the pressure

Always leaning on my left shoulder

Over time this made my shoulder joint squish together

Now my workouts were trash due to shoulder pain

But even worse than that...

It's MUCH easier to help someone putt better than it is to teach them golf from scratch

For beginners you must deliver everything, for the intermediates they only require something (THREAD)
The easiest customer avatar to convert are one's already on the green

They're already playing the game, they have skin in the game, they know they have a problem, they know solutions exist

They just need the right offer presented to them

It's a tap in
That is the in-market solution aware avatar

The most difficult customer avatar to convert are the ones who don't know the game exists, they're not playing, they haven't started

Through marketing & education they can potentially become a customer in the future
