If you let 200 thousand Americans die because you value the stock market more than human life, you haven’t made America great.
If you praise an all white audience for their good genes to promote white supremacy, you haven’t made America great.
If you try stripping health coverage from 20 million Americans with preexisting conditions to replace it with nothing, you haven’t made America great.
If you refuse to condemn Russian bounties on the heads of American soldiers because you want Putin to like you, you haven’t made America great.
If you separate immigrant families and place kids in cages to look tough to racists, you haven’t made America great.
If you send troops into urban areas only to foment further violence, you haven’t made America great.
If you tamper with our mail service to make democracy function worse, you haven’t made America great.
If you teargas innocent civilians because you don’t understand that dissent is the bedrock of democracy, you haven’t made America great.
If you routinely alienate our allies while pandering to our enemies, you haven’t made America great.
If you’re only path to re-election is engendering white fear of their black brethren, you haven’t made America great.
If you actively solicit foreign interference in our electoral systems, you haven’t made America great.
If you use the power of the presidency for your own personal, political gain, you haven’t made America great.
If you hide behind naked jingoism to discredit those opposing police brutality, you haven’t made America great.
If you want to remove the reproductive liberties that three-quarters of American support, you haven’t made America great.
If you regularly downplay a pandemic and lie about medical cures, you haven’t made America great.
If you believe 50 million unemployed is acceptable because all your friends are rich, you haven’t made America great.
If you mock POWs & Gold Star families and think war heroes are “suckers” and “losers,” you haven’t made America great.
If you consider yourself the President only of states that voted for you and view everyone else as your enemy, you haven’t made America great.
If you’re only way off demonstrating strength is to demonize society’s most vulnerable, you haven’t made America great.
If you’re only path to another four years is to scapegoat people of color, you haven’t made America great.
If you think a ruler is above the law, you don’t understand the tenets of democracy and you haven’t made America great.
If you attack peaceful protest and a free, unfettered press, you haven’t made America great.
In fact, not only have you not made America great, you have made it substantially weaker. A mere shell of its previous promise.
And anyone who so thoroughly misunderstands what actually makes America great doesn’t deserve another four years at its helm.
Because as great as American can be, I don’t believe we can survive another four years of Donald Trump’s “improvements.”

The recent, sad passings of Lance Kerwin and Adam Rich have got me thinking of how quickly time is passing. And thinking a lot about the 1970’s. This thread is a quick photo salute to some of my other favorite 70’s figures, real or fictional. Enjoy. 🤟 Image

There is no sports team I love more than #USMNT. And I’ve never been less excited for a World Cup, because of Gregg Berhalter’s arrogance & stubbornness. 3 years in & he’s still basing player selection around his system & not the other way around. Setting this team up to fail. 🇺🇸
Insistence on playing a “high line” w/o the players to do it. Even worse, an adherence to “playing out of the back” long after we assumed we were done with that. Long/ Zimmerman are not the CBs for that. If you insist on it, call up Brooks & Ream. What a disaster this close to WC
Jordan Pefok’s the most obvious case in point. For an entire qualifying cycle the narrative has been “we don’t have a 9 who can score.” Suddenly, an American is lighting up the Bundesliga but GB won’t call him. Doesn’t fit his “system.” All he does is score goals & assist on them

Me: I like to use Twitter to provide real time commentary on current events as their happening.

Also Me: I can’t believe more people aren’t following my super timely thread on “60’s Pop Bands appearing on 60’s Sitcoms.” 😩😩
I was today years old when I learned about:

The Buffalo Springfield on Mannix

Or that my beloved Paul Revere & the Raiders were on Batman.

How about I combine 2 of my favorite topics— 60s pop and 60s tv?

Here are some of my favorite TV appearances by 60s musical acts.

Beginning, of course, with Boyce & Hart on Bewitched.

Which naturally must be followed up by:

Boyce & Hart on I Dream of Jeannie

And both of those were predated by:

Chad & Jeremy on the Patty Duke Show

Alanis Morisette @ The Hollywood Bowl. The perfect Mother’s Day present for my wife Beth. Image
It seems almost silly to call an act whose first personal album sold 33 million copies worldwide. But she was such a meteor, such a symbol of the zeitgeist that many have unfairly reduced her to “remember the 90s” status. But with the 25th anniversary of Jagged Little Pill...
...with the Broadway musical, and really, with the pandemic, people got to remember how much they missed Alanis. I feel she’s finally getting her due, not just as a phenomenon but as a phenomenal talent.
