Looking a bit better at sunset, but expect this to start looking quite unnerving in ten minutes, as the sunlight dims and you can more clearly see glowing embers. Also these fires have tended to flare for about an hour following sunset.
Still uncomfortably close at 6:30 pm. A Bell-206 helicopter is circling Mt Wilson and Occidental peak. Appears to be monitoring what folks are saying was a controlled burn.
7:45pm. Looks quite surreal, and unnerving, yet beautiful in a photographic sense. Appears docile at the moment. #MountWilson
