Premier Ford is up now. Says his govt has been working all summer to come up with a fall plan, says next wave of COVID-19 will be "more challenging" because of flu season. #onpoli
Ford says he'll have more to say about clearing backlog of surgeries in coming days.
"Folks, we haven't taken a break," Ford says.
Due to size and scope of plan, will take next few days to walk through it, Ford says. #onpoli
The first pillar helps hospital maintain capacity through the use of the flu shot to reduce intake in doctors' offices and hospitals. Ford says Ontario is launching largest and most comprehensive flu shot campaign - 5.1M doses - in history. Anyone who wants flu shot can get one.

NEW: BC Premier David Eby says he’s directed BC liquor sales to stop buying US booze from RED states and to remove popular brands; says he’s directed govt and crown corps like BC hydro & health authorities to stop buying US goods/services and buy Canadian.
“The Americans are bigger, but if we don’t stand up for ourselves they’ll just keep coming back for more,” he says.

NEW: Official guidance from Ontario for those who got AstraZeneca - As of tomorrow, Ontarians who received a first dose of AstraZeneca can choose to receive a second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, or an mRNA (Pfizer or Moderna) vaccine for their second dose. #onpoli
Second doses will be provided “at the recommended 12-week interval.” People who got AZ and want 2nd shot of AZ can book through pharmacy/doctor. Can also book Pfizer/Moderna at pharmacy.

Starting June 7, people can also register for 2nd dose of mRNA on provincial booking site.
There will be a “second dose only” option on the provincial booking site for those who got AZ and want mRNA for second shot. Can also book directly through public health units that have their own systems. #onpoli
