Lagos is more than the centre of excellence. It is home to excellent people with excellent aspirations for their individual and our collective well-being.
I am blessed that this bustling city of commerce, culture and character is where my career in public service began.
It was a wonderful honour to serve Lagos and its people. It was you who first believed in me and the vision I held for this state. You trusted me to bring good governance and progress to our beloved state. I am forever grateful to you!
Today in Ebonyi, “the Salt of our Nation”, I reiterated my belief in the entrepreneurial spirit that is the hallmark of the South East. I have a record of encouraging Igbo businesses and investments in Lagos and will even do more if I become president.
There can be no discrimination against any section of our country if we are to be a great nation. Most important, I intend to encourage policies to aid commerce and support South East states to reach their full potential - removing hindrances to trade, improving economic access,
and working with our businessmen and women to make the South East the Taiwan of Africa with further investments in people, infrastructure, transportation, agriculture, and mineral resources.
1. My fellow Nigerians, we stand at the threshold of our destiny as a unique nation – home to over 200 million industrious people – recognised globally as an economic powerhouse and natural leader amongst African nations.
Today, I joined the ongoing 3rd Ministerial Performance Review of the President Muhammadu Buhari led government being held in Abuja.
I listened intently to the various submissions, success stories and highlights, including the most challenging areas in which more must be done to improve the lot of the Nigerian people.
I have resolved to build upon the gains of this administration; adding new ideas that will deliver value for all Nigerians.
I felicitate with the good people of Ekiti on the occassion of the swearing in today, of Governor Biodun Oyebanji as the new Governor of Ekiti State who takes over from Governor Kayode Fayemi.
I must also commend the seamless transition - the first of its kind in Ekiti. It is my sincere hope that this new beginning will usher in even greater progress for the people of the state.
A nation can only deliver good governance when there is sustainability of good government policies and institutions; which are development and people focused.
