1/ I've seen 4 different populations when it comes to Trump (ym'sh):
(a) 2 who deny he's going to act on his terrible impulses & words
(b) those who take him as a serious threat & prepare
(c) those who act like he's already won
Group C need to stop panicking. I get it tho.
2/ I hope to be in group B, preparing for the eventualities w/a clear head.
But it's the first 2 that are interesting. They consist of (a) those who deny he'll do what he threatens & when he carries it out are appalled vs. (b) those who are fine with the result of his bad acts
3/ These 2 groups can be on the literal-thinking spectrum, but also just naïve, or just emotionally incapable of recognizing that Trump (ym'sh) is trying to be a fascist dictator
But when his threats materialize, a majority of Americans have shown they hate it and him
4/ This is key: many people who thought "he can't be THAT bad" in 2016 are finding out that our warnings turned out to be true. He's a murderous nut.
When they are confronted with the reality, they reject it. That's why he's on track to lose by 1980 numbers
5/ However there's a group of denialists who find out that the unimaginable future they scoffed at happening is actually pretty nice. They are not sick (yet), they got a tax cut (maybe, not here in NJ I can tell you), they got feral brutes as judges
They're OK with the new rules
6/ It's the first group of denialists that are reacting so strongly and who I'm depending on to save us with their votes in Nov. Because while I expected this to happen, they DID NOT. And my disgust in 2016 is what they feel right now.
7/ Putting it frankly, many white people had no idea how bad non-white people were treated in America. And Trump (ym'sh) has been treating white people like Black people this entire year. My fellow whites are NOT LIKING THAT ONE BIT
We don't expect to have our votes thrown away
8/ Whites don't expect to have police shoot us in the face with rubber bullets when we express our displeasure. This is what I'm seeing: the support for #BLM is a sign white people are finally seeing that being treated as Black person is terrible
9/ The GOP, however, has discovered that they kinda like being the party in charge. They like being Members of the Party, wearing red hats instead of brown shirts.
So far, as far as I've seen, there's not enough of that group of people to outnumber the rejectors.

212.03/ This is an excellent, spot-on, thread. I've said a lot of this stuff for years.
[I'm a life-long Democrat born in Pittsburgh & raised in small towns (Binghamton), rural areas (Ithaca), and the South (Memphis). Walz is a familiar archetype to me.]
211.02/ It would behoove this law prof. to learn about the Jewish law concept of "chazakah" - the legal presumption for what a person means/intends. So, um, Trump (ym'sh) fomented an armed insurrection. He wants to end Democracy.
210.03/ I had too many sleepless nights over the last three weeks because of the drumbeat against Biden b/c there was too much smoke for there not to be fire. What kept me steady was my trust of his judgement. So if he thinks this is wise, then I logically have to support it.
209.02/ Following the assassination attempt on TFG yesterday - an act I condemn; ballots not bullets - the reaction by news agencies has been unhinged. But I'm singling out The Daily Beast and Politico who are lionizing TFG using very disturbing rhetoric. I've had to unfollow.
209.03/ I'm furious that so many in Congress are playing this dangerous game but I'm reminding myself that (1) the MSM has been fabricating stories & amplifying mythological pro-GOP nonsense for a while now & (2) I trust Biden's abilities to handle this like he did NATO.
208.02/ Demographically, I should be part of the "elite" but the past two weeks showed me that I'm a solid true-blue member of the Democratic "base" because I'm standing by Biden-Harris & have a white-hot rage against the media (& the cowards in my party) trying to take us down.
208.03/ People ask "Why haven't the media learned their lesson from 'But Her Emails?' in 2016"?! But the answer is QED - they did learn their lesson: that with relentless bad-faith attacks they can knock out the Democrat & elect a cash-cow tabloid buffoon. They know & want this.
