Me :Vanakkam sir, I am coming from Modi ji's BJP Party...

He : my entire family is a DMK family for generations.

Me : That's why I have come to talk to you
He : You can't change me or any one in my family

Me : I have come to understand your problems and your concerns.

He : We don't like BJP, its fascist, authoritarian and against interests of Tamil Nadu.
Me : OK sir I will note it down.
He : Your party can never set its foot in TN. We won't allow your party to take roots.

Me : It's ok, kindly answer me the reasons for you being in DMK.
He : My grandfather father was a tall leader in DMK , my father was so and so in the party , I Am also active in the DMK.

Me : Awesome, What's your mother tongue?
He : Telugu , we are devanga chettiars.

Me : But Sir, your party has labelled your community as "Vanderis" (means refugees)
He : But but but...

Me : Yes black shirts don't consider you as Tamils, they call you as *vanderis*, do you agree ?
He : I dont agree, but that's only for public consumption.

Inside our party, we don't have such differences.

Me : So you don't respect your mother tongue? They are questioning your self-respect, yet you are serving them? DMK started as a self-respect movement, but still they hurt you.

He : You see, this is the reason we don't allow BJP. You divide people living harmoniously.
Me : Sir our Motto is, "Sab ka saat sab ka vikas", we didn't call anyone as, "vanderis", its DMK and its offshoots. Did you ask your DMK leadership as to why they are dividing people?

He : I didn't feel its necessary, I am a Tamilian & no one can change it.
Me : Sir I agree you are a Tamilian, but your party doesn't agree. That's what I am pointing out.

Me : Amma we are not running a hate campaign like DMK.
He : When BJP comes to power there is communal violence.
Me : Sir let's go by real data. If you take the number of communal riots since 1947,

wherein more than 100 people have been killed; there have been 69 riots. 65 during Cong rule, 3 during others and just 1 during BJP rule Gujarat & that's too started by Congress. Now who is communal?

He: BJP is a Brahmin party , we won't allow Brahminism to resurface.

Me : Our PM is from Backward Community, Our Country's President is a Dalit, VP is a non Brahmin, maximum number of Dalit MPs, non Brahmin CMs, OBCs as Mps, Mlas, mayors are all from BJP, what's the issue?
He: Yet...

Me: why hate Brahmins? Has any Brahmin hurt you?

She : No... all our family friends are Brahmins, they never interfere in others affairs, they focus on Studies and are God fearing; most of them have gone abroad.

He : Brahmins have introduced casteism.
Me: The present day casteism was engineered by Christian missionaries,

abetted and supported by British to divide Hindus and promote conversion. Our vedic concept of casteism was harmonious classification of society, & not the present one.

Sir, when DMK came to power they said they will abolish casteism. Has casteism been eradicated in TN?

She: Not at all.. it has deepened. It has grown like cancer in all walks of life; in Police appointments, All Government jobs, transfers, postings, promotions etc.
He : It is worse now.

Me : Both DMK and ADMK are in power for 50 years, yet they have not destroyed

the caste system. If they are keen why not abolish caste certificates.
He : I agree dravidian parties have failed.

Me : Now the real problem and caste clashes aren't involving Brahmins.
He : I agree.

Me : If at all there are caste flare ups, its only between

Where are Brahmins in this entire scene? Are Brahmins your whipping boys and punching bags? Its royal rumble out there, every one against everyone else, but blame only Brahmins for casteism?

She : What this thambi saying is absolutely correct.
