The GOP know Trump believes "his" judge will out loyalty to him over loyalty to the Constitution. They agree that the judge should rule on election cases. They have tainted any decision that comes down.
It matters because yesterday the EU and US refused to accept Lysenko's election as fre and fair. If the Senate chooses it degrade the court to throw the election to Trump they may be on the receiving end of sanctions and a refusal by some countries to recognize the election.
Compare the facts the EU and US used to determine the election wasn't free and fair. If the GOP continue down this path of colluding with Trump to use the power if the state to cheat the evidence they have left a trail of evidence in their own words

@VABVOX A lot more. Apart from the evidence, there are huge risks in arresting him too soon including an end to the Jan 6 Committee. The Proud Boys lawyers are in court now arguing that they should have access to all the transcripts of the jan 6 committee.
@VABVOX They are entitled to get all evidence the govt has that would help the defendant. PB lawyers are also arguing it is unfair to have the trial in DC while the committee is holding high profile hearings. It makes it hard to find a jury pool.
@VABVOX Trump's lawyers will use every tweet claiming Trump is guilty to show that it is impossible for him to get a trial. The Jan 6 Committee would have a hard time arguing that they can continue once Trump is charged. Trump will definitely force a delay by filing motions in court.
Joy Reid: Republicans are tying themselves in pretzels to point fingers at every thing but the gun msnbc.com/the-reidout/wa… via @msnbc
It's easy to get them to show the country themselves with a few basic questions: 1. Arming teachers: Will they be required to wear body armor all day? If they aren't proteted isn't a shooter going to kill or injure the teacher and take their gun?
If the teachers are engaging the shooter wh0 is going to comfort the children, move them to a safer location, take them to the bathroom, take care of minor injuries?
@erin Thanks for the post. They've gone much farther than most people realize. Ontario Health is a new Crown Corporation that will have total control over the health care budget. We will see more corporations like Telus acting as intermediary. They're already a big player.
@erin The majority of the Board are corporate CEOs, including some who spent time in the US corp. There is a physician on the board who used to work with the Group that provides physician malpractice insurance. They run up bills so patients can't afford to sue.
@erin Read the Ontario Auditor's Report from Dec 2021. She looked at how Ontario Health is m anaging Assistive Living. Her conclusion, they collect no data to evaluate the services.,\ This is a common thread in every area.
@DrEricDing@Chaela1982@PeterHotez@mehdirhasan@MehdiHasanShow Long Covid and post infection complications should be part of daily briefings and media updates. Mask v mild infection and mask v disability, serious complications are very different discussions. We are being asked to rely on advice without full info.
@DrEricDing@Chaela1982@PeterHotez@mehdirhasan@MehdiHasanShow I started working on health and disability law and policy during the early days of the AIDs epidemic through CFS/ME What's coming next in Covid is huge and the public has no idea. My short list:
The numbers the govt is using aren't publicly available and need to be clarified. The latest data on PHAC shows 60,515,160 delivered as of Jan 28 (not including tests the Prov bought). 51,892,170 were deployed as of Dec 31 including tests the Prov bought. 9,681,629 used
The number used includes tests purchased privately. Ontario does not publicly report what they are doing with the tests. While schools were desperately asking for tests the province had 20 mil tests avail. canada.ca/en/public-heal…

Trudeau's speech tonight in Parliament during an emergency debate on the convoy. A court injunction this afternoon banned honking for 10 days. The judge said honking wasn't speech to convey an idea.
The mayor declared a state of emergency! Gingrich, Dr Santis and a move by the far right leadership candidate for the Conservative Party of Canada to hire a new US-linked campaign manager seems to have galavanized opposition in the CPC
Michael Chong, a CPC member of Parliament called for the convoy to end when he spoke. Good chance he will join the leadership race. He's run before.
