The Chinese version of the story is the closest to the truth. The story begun with a HongKong murderer… 1. A HongKong man named Chen Tongjia murdered his pregnant girlfriend in Taiwan and abandoned her body in a suitcase. Then he fled back to HongKong.
2. The HK Police, with the cooperation of the Taiwan police, soon arrested him.
But, because the crime took place in Taiwan, HK law cannot convict him of murder.
Meanwhile, no extradition rule between Taiwan and HK, so he also cannot be sent to Taiwan.
He was eventually released
3. To solve this problem, the HongKong govt decided to pass an extradition bill with Taiwan.
However, Taiwan's political status is embarrassing. It is not a sovereign state.
Therefore, the extradition bill must include the Chinese mainland.
4. At the instigation of HongKong's opposition politicians and some media, HongKong people fear the extradition bill. As a result, they began to protest in the streets.
5. At the same time, the US govt seized the opportunity.
Agents and officials of the country's consulate in HK frequently met with the protest leaders and provided funds to them through NGOs such as the NED.
6. The protests have become increasingly violent.
The protestors broke into govt buildings, robbed shops, set fire on the streets and beat innocent passers-by.
The theme of the protest also shifted from the anti-extradition to anti-govt and anti-China.
7. On September 4, 2019,the chief executive of HK announced that the extradition bill was cancelled indefinitely. But the violent protests didn't stop.
At the instigation of foreign forces and media, the protestors demanded that HK should become an independent or UK colony again.
8. HongKong police have also been targeted by the protestors.
Although in more than a year of protests, the number of protestors killed by police was 0.
However, HongKong police are still called "violent police" by protestors, media and Western politicians.
9. The protests began to look like terrorist attacks.
The protestors used bows and arrows, incendiary flasks and homemade bombs against police.
More innocent citizens were killed or burned by the protestors.
All this made a great threat to the security of HongKong.
10. Finally, on July 1, 2020, China's legislature, the people's Congress, passed the HongKong National Security Law in accordance with the rights conferred by the basic law of HongKong.
After the influence of foreign forces weakened, HongKong is gradually returning its peace.
11. However, it is a pity that with the "efforts" of the HonKong people, the murderer Chen Tongjia has escaped the legal sanction.
The lovely girl who was murdered, pan Xiaoying, may have died in vain.
… …
That's the Chinese version of the HongKong story, or my version.
(End)
The "peaceful protest" in Hong Kong in 2019 were not peaceful as described by Western media, on the contrary, it was full of extreme violence.👇

China makes more Chips than the rest of the world when it comes to any Chip that is 45 nm Or larger.
Automatic Garage Doors, Lawnmowers, Refrigerators, Washing Machines, Basic Guided Missiles, Automatic Sprinklers, Electronic Display Counters, Counting Machines... Chips ≠ 3 nm
Chips between 3–14 nm are used in less than 10% Applications globally albeit very important applications that make a truckload of profits.
Almost 90% Applications in the world use Larger Chips that are almost exclusively made in China & use entirely indigenous Chinese processes or machinery.
Since 2016, Chinese firms have more than doubled their foreign sales, and much of that growth is happening in the Global South.
Chinese companies are making significant investments through "greenfield FDI," building brand-new factories and facilities from scratch.
Professor John Mearsheimer once remarked, "We foolishly pushed the Russians into the arms of the Chinese."
Now, as Trump threatens tariffs on Chinese products, the US risks pushing China even closer to these Global South emerging markets.
If you've heard of China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), you know it's a massive undertaking.
Over the last decade, China has invested more than $1 trillion in infrastructure - roads, railways, and power networks - across Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
In China, if you want to express your approval of what someone says, please don't use this Emoji - 🙂, it often implies boredom, sarcasm, or passive-aggressiveness.
You can use 😂, or 😁.
(Comes from today's experience of communicating with a foreign colleague of mine.)
BTW in Chinese internet slang, 666 is shorthand for "awesome" or "great job" - NOT a reference to something evil.
It comes from "溜溜溜" (liù liù liù), which sounds like "666" and means "smooth" or "cool."
The Emoji shows a person eating watermelon turns out the watermelon is a visual pun in Chinese.
"melon" (瓜, guā) sounds similar to "gossip" (八卦, bāguà) - "just here for the drama" - no judgment, just happily spectating the unfolding chaos👉Michael Jackson eating popcorn meme.

"As two major countries, China and the United States should bear in mind the interests of the whole world, and inject more certainty and positive energy into the turbulent world."
Xi told Biden.
Xi noted the recent U.S. election, and stressed that China's goal of a stable, healthy and sustainable China-U.S. relationship remains unchanged.
According to the memories of workers who participated in the construction of the China-Laos Railway, this project was the most dangerous project they had ever experienced: a large amount of UXO from US carpet bombing during the Vietnam War, which Laos was embroiled in.😱
Within nine years, 270 million bombs in total weighing two million tonnes were dropped on Laos, equalling eight bombs per minute on average. The total number of bombs is more than that dropped during World War II.
When then US President Barack Obama visited Laos in 2016, he promised an additional $90 million for clearing the unexploded bombs, but did not apologise for the bombing.
