Convince me otherwise:

The Flippening has already happened.

ETH gave birth to so many amazing projects, both on the Ethereum network and through new chains, that the true value of ETH is already spread across all of its "children".

Investing in ETH really is investing in the infrastructure, but the true value will not be realized in ETH, but rather in the successful indvidual projects built on and inspired by the Ethereum network.

Investment funds are always limited so ETH will not see the same amount of centralized buying behavior that we see in BTC (If you want to invest in Bitcoin, there is only BTC).

The path to wealth with ETH is investing in the projects that best exemplify its use case.
So:

1, I dont hold any BTC anymore (since 2015).

And:

2, Not saying that ETH will not continue to escalate in value as an infrastructural token.

Just:

3, Saying that there might be significantly more investor value in other places.

First there was barter, then there was currency.

The methods in which humans have exchanged one good for another has always been direct and as of recent history, done through a traditional "buy -sell" model.

This is the means of transaction that our ancestors used till the advent of currency (2,000 BCE)
3/ The Status-Quo: Currency

USD, EUR, JPY, RMB, BTC, ETH...

We earn currency through the provision of goods and services and in turn, use that currency to purchase goods and services we desire.

1/ Rethinking the Comercial Value of PFPs:

This is not going to be a popular thread.

People have invested with the expectations of profit, and anything that threatens those expectations are oft seen as a personal insult.

Hear me out (or not) and save yourself some pain.
2/ Your Monkey isn't Hello Kitty

Evergreen IPs are far and few between.

The majority of character IPs, regardless of their initial popularity, have a limited lifecycle.

You can count the # of evergreen character IPs with the digits on your two hands.
3/ They all look the same

The lack of differentiation among PFPs within a single project makes commercialization of "characters" impossible.

There are only 39 characters in the Sanrio-verse and 898 in Pokemon...

And the differentiation of characters is not a different hat.

It saddens me when I see comments from mainstream such as:

"Not a NFT"
"Please not a NFT"

NFT technology was created to provide true ownership and management of digital assets as we moved further towards a digital world and lifestyle.

Like the internet, NFT tech is not inherently bad.

The internet was created to provide the seamless flow of information and ideas across the globe.

It was not created to provide access to child pornography or animal cruelty videos.

Cute cat videos were a bonus though.

There is so much noise in the NFT space.

A generational disruption in digital art, culture and gaming drowned out by insider trading, hype manufacturing and false idols.

And that noise continues to increase with the greed associated with it.
