Day 15 of the #Assange extradition hearing. Live updates in this thread:

(Apologies, I was prevented from following the court proceedings this morning).
Court returns from lunch.

Joel Sickler continues his testimony from this morning. Sickler is an expert on US prisons with 40 years of experience in corrections and sentencing. #AssangeTrial
Some key points from Sickler’s morning testimony:

-He firmly believes #Assange will be thrown in ad-seg (solitary) at ADC or the “X-unit
-Limited interaction and communication with other prisoners. None if placed under SAMs

#AssangeTrial
-Gov puts prisoners in x bloc for nat sec crimes, very likely #Assange will go there for pre-trial
-Several of Sickler’s clients have committed sui. in pre-trial due to harsh conditions
-If convicted Assange will end up at ADX Florence, H Unit and placed under SAMs

#AssangeTrial
Cross-examination of Sickler by Dobbin resumes.

They are debating the humanity— or lack thereof— in US federal prisons.
-Sickler echoes what other witnesses told us: no attorney client privilege in ADX. Conversations are monitored and in one case lawyer herself was prosecuted under terrorism charges.
Sickler is arguing that any medical or mental health treatment at these facilities is insufficient. Moreover these facilities have a bad track record at preventing suicide, among them some of his clients.
Despite what the prosecution says, Sickler is not changing his views.. ADC has ad-seg and makes people want to commit sui. and ADX Florence has SAMs— even worse. Neither offer adequate healthcare, socialization, or leniency. And Assange will in all likelihood be sent to both.
Sickler also notes #Assange’s notoriety puts him at danger, on top of the torture and lack of medical care he will receive on an institutional level.
Sickler’s testimony is concluded. Court is adjourned resumes tomorrow 10am. #Assange trial

Lol this non-story is so dumb.

There are people on Twitter today accusing @ggreenwald of supporting Bolsonaro. This is the same Bolsonaro who tried to put Glenn in jail. The same Bolsonaro who lost Brazil’s presidential election today to Lula, whom Glenn helped free from prison.
Their “source” for this verbal diarrhea is a clip where Glenn appears on Tucker Carlson. He says nothing good about Bolsonaro in the slightest (why would he?). Glenn simply argues that it’s bad for US billionaires/Big Tech to meddle in foreign politics..

..& censor foreign heads of state/politicians, including Bolsonaro, who (until today) was president. This is the same argument many European countries (and I) made when Trump was banned, i.e. we dislike the guy, but this isn’t good and sets a bad precedent; the left will be next.

If Iran put sanctions on the US every time a video came out of cops giving someone a beat down they’d run out of sanctions.
(We don’t even have a video on this case— we’re just expected to mindlessly believe any bullshit accusation against Iran, Syria, because it suits the narrative: the West is moral and pure and everyone else is automatically evil).
Last I recall, the Iranian and Syrian foreign ministries also don’t take advantage of protests or unrest in the US to try and pursue regime change there— even though some might argue they’d have every right to in order to defend themselves from decades of bullying and aggression.

Incredible.

Mélenchon doing what Bernie and Corbyn couldn't do.

France's left coalition, the NUPES, just won 26% of votes in the legislative elections, and is tied with Macron's coalition.

We'll see in the run-off vote, but the fact they are neck and neck is unprecedented.
Although Macron won the presidency, Mélenchon says it's not over:

If his coalition, NUPES, wins the legislatives, he can become Prime Minister. This is known as cohabitation. The PM has a lot of power in France, and could make life difficult for Macron:

Mélenchon was able to bring together the greens, communists, socialists, and unite them under one banner and program: NUPES (New Ecologic and Social People's Union).

I explain their platform in this video and how they plan to challenge Macron:

When Russia does it it's an invasion, when we do it it's an "intervention".

Destroying Libya was an "intervention".

The US occupying and stealing Syria's oil is an "intervention".

Turkey, a NATO country, occupying Syria & threatening to take more land is a "security zone".
These politicians and their media mouthpieces have more blood on their hands than anyone else and want to lecture us about international law and sovereignty.
Israel literally just DESTROYED Syria's international airport. The missiles were launched from the occupied Syrian Golan Heights. Did you hear a peep from the West? No, instead, Von der Leyen goes on a trip to increase partnership with the israelis!

If anyone had done this to a European airport they would call it terrorism.

But because israel did it to Damascus' international airport they suddenly have nothing to say. ImageImage
They targeted both runways, in 3 equal increments to make sure no plane of any size can take off.

They are so sick and vindictive. ImageImage
The media cover for israel, saying Hezbollah/Iran are bringing arms in (without any proof). As if Syria needs permission from israel for this anyway.

Israel bombs Syria every week. Israel helped Al Qaeda in Syria. Israel is occupying Syria since 1967. They're the aggressors.

Lol look at this McCarthyist smear campaign.

I've been put on a list of "Russian-influenced accounts", along with @ggreenwald, @MaxBlumenthal, @BenjaminNorton, @TulsiGabbard and others.

This is a paper written by people who are funded by the Canadian military.
Literally, in the same document, it says: "Jean-Christophe Boucher [...] is currently responsible for projects funded by the Department of National Defence (DND) to study information operations;"

I usually don't bother with such drivel, but it's so typical and emblematic of Western hysteria. This is another Red Scare.

These "academics" think that people with different opinions must be influenced by Russia.

What a correlation. Very scientific! Lmao
