There are 4 sectors that can revive the Nigerian economy outside oil and gas, agriculture but because @NigeriaGov and state governments are too lazy to act. 1. Transport- The laziest government & most unproductive, I have seen in terms of solving transport issues is @followlasg
Lagos State has no business still using danfo buses. It is just the lazy approach of our politicians to muddle up things and politicize everything that makes a mega city like @followlasg to still think Danfo buses serve a purpose. Go to Abuja and see how much you suffer in lag.
The transportation overhaul of danfo buses in Lagos and the use of metroline and registered cabs like @AkinwunmiAmbode planned would have helped raise the revenue of the state. The reason why productive hours in Lagos State are spent on the road is danfo buses.
Danfo buses have outlived their usefulness like Molue buses and it is high time @followlasg and other states start thinking up a transportation model that is different from what obtains in Lagos. A proper planning of a state's transport can shore up revenue.
2. Sports and recreational activities. You don't need a soothsayer to tell you that @NigeriaGov is losing millions by the seconds ignoring sports. public and Private school alike always look forward to inter house sports. They know the reason they know financial rewards.
I know people who organize sporting shows at the local level, charge N100 and actually smile to the bank after such event. You have boxing, athletics, basketball and football, we have an energetic young population but we fail to monetize these energy. @NigeriaGov wake up!
3. Entertainment
The creative industry in Nigeria needs funding. It is painful that up till now we still don't have a film village in Nigeria or a govt subsidized studio in any part of the country. The prospect Nigeria has in terms of audio-visual is huge but we need support
We keep saying that our music industry is doing well, truth is, are we being sincere? We are buying the massive PR illusions of our artistes which isn't translating to sales or commercial success. $1billion streams but none of them has earned what Majek or Fela earned.
Our government needs to step in and create a structure which helps the Nigerian talent and creative sell his intellectual product without hassles. Making money from creativity in Nigeria is almost a task many perceive as impossible because intellectual products are not protected
You have an industry that the major players are more like gamblers. No continuity, no legacy. Why? Because investors in the creative industry are not protected. We have MGM and 21st century for over 30years, they are still waxing strong, what about EMI, DEF jams, Sony?
But tell me what has become of the Ojo ladipo theater group, Duro Ladipo? What has become of Kennis Music, Empire mates and even @eLDeeTheDon company? Nigeria happened to them. No sustainability because Intellectual products are not protected in any form.
And not just the fact that they are not protected, because we have a @NigeriaGov that just doesn't see the bigger picture as regards opening up markets for creatives and helping them monetize their intellectual products. The copyright agency in Nigeria gets budget but is inactive
4. Education-
Countries that are smart invest the bulk of their budget in education and monitor closely. We have moved from a mercantile world economy to the 'creating markets' economy. To create markets in this new world, you need to build human capacity. But @NigeriaGov ...
But @NigeriaGov doesn't know. How many Cuban doctors did Italy open up their doors to, during COVID 19? We spent the bulk of our budget in 2015 on CAPEX, how many foreigners did we pay based on their specialization? How many machineries did we import because we lack technology?
There is never enough money or time to pump towards education and human capacity development in a country like Nigeria. Of course, I agree that the bulk of our educational syllabus needs overhauling because most of what is taught is not productive.
In today's economy and the new world reality, why is tailoring and fashion designing not a course in our universities? Why is filmmaking not a course? We are investing on agric, how many agricultural universities do we have and what has been their contribution to the sector?
If we can ensure that these four sectors work, we will see a difference in the way our economy is presently. Yes, I know tourism is a good one but trust me, tourism can only come about when the basic amenities are provided.

If your brains could not tell you that everyone who could be an impediment to the man's ambition were murdered mysteriously without anyone having clues- (Funsho Williams and Bola Ige), then I am sorry you are slow.
If you can't see that his contemporaries are scared of him...
If you can't see that his contemporaries who are governors with him at the same time are scared of him and your brain hasn't made you ask why will politicians be scared of one man, I am sorry you are very slow.
One day, I pray y'all brains will process things fast.
Most of you can abuse @DavidHundeyin all you like. Truth, let me do 'Ntoor' to David too for supporting Yankees at some point but I am glad he has learned his lessons now.
Now to my own 'conspiracy theory'. If you like believe it, if you like don't.
It all started with Abacha.
Abacha arrested MKO, the Yankees were not going to meddle in it because as far as they were concerned MKO was an extreme pan Africanist who was fighting for reparations for crimes against Africans during slavery in the US. You have no idea how treacherous that is to the Yankees
MKO got into the political ring and contested an election he believed will be too easy to win, since Babangida was his good friend. Little did he know that most military heads of states in Nigeria are western puppets and controlled by the same people he wanted to pay reparations.
If this is a failed attempt to break a table, then so be it. I am sick and tired of people blaming Christianity for the decline and steady fall of Nigeria. The bible never promised you all that Christianity will save Nigeria, what the bible says is 'Righteousness exalts a nation'
Now tell me, how many of you church goers or so called pseudo Christians in Nigeria are righteous? Altar call every day and Ushers in churches looking like Jerusalem babies, Choir members singing the holy hymns & crying to look righteous but you all are the ones doing runs girls
Hospitals are tired of your hypocrisy, aunty church Christian but abortion follows you every 3 months. Church goer pastor but you are the most fraudulent in your company. You will change cheques at every opportunity, lie and set people up for money, yet you claim Christianity.
A LETTER FROM A YORUBA MAN TO AN EXTRAORDINARY IGBO MAN.
Oh what a ride it's been. Thank you @PeterObi for making me a believer again. You see, people like me live our lives based on beliefs. It's the currency we utilize. The world has become a shell, the essence almost lost...
I live in a world where lots of people don't even believe in God. So it's no shock that they don't believe in decency, morals, character and principles; qualities that make a man who he is. The world that I live in, we have very few men who are men and @PeterObi you are one.
@PeterObi I will tell my son about 2023 elections & let him know what believers can do. Dear @PeterObi , yes, I have a son now and I will teach him about what winning means. Winning for me, is about doing the extraordinary and Sir, that's what we did in this election, all because of belief
Dear young people. We all know that in today's world, you know your life expectancy is 80yrs. Which means you have 80yrs to live. Now divide 80 by 8yrs and you have 10. That means if you vote for wrong presidential candidates for 2 terms 10 times that is your whole
Iife time.
Many of us are already over 40yrs, so we don't have the luxury of voting for people for 2 terms ten times, we just have the luxury to vote people for 2 terms 4 or 5 more times before we leave this world. Now we have voted @MBuhari for 2 terms and that is 1 out 5 we have.
Yet, some old men in 80's are still telling some of my age mates to be loyal and vote for them the 2nd time. Which means we will be left with just 3votes of 2 terms left in our life time. Are we thinking at all? At what point does loyalty end and we start thinking?
When I was in school, I saw a park take over and that day I understood what it meant to be a park chairman. All the bottles that the chairman was beings stoned with didn't hit him. One of his park secretary was beaten with charmed ring and his tongue came out...
That day I learned that the human tongue was longer than we thought it is. The guy whose tongue came out started hitting his chest and tongue kept going back and returned to normal, it all happened in Ijebu. I later became pals with the thug whose tongue came out.
The thug whose tongue came out later became my pal because he was the guy who sold choko to us. We became very close and he revealed some secrets to me and my guy back then, his father was a jazzman. He let us know that it's not easy to be a park chairman.
