Fascinating story of how Yama became Dharmaraja ....Read on

Brahma's grandson is Surya. He was born to Aditi from Kashyapa. Surya had problem in finding a girl to marry him due to the following reasons. Sun was extremely 'hot & busy' & his height & width were the same.
On learning of his grandson Sun's matrimonial problem, Brahma called his son Tvastru Prajapati & told him to give his daughter Sanjna to Surya in marriage. Prajapati agreed since 'Brahma the lord of fate himself' is proposing this. So Sun marries Sanjna.
Sun gets 'Vaivasvata Manu' as his first son, and twins Yama & Yami as second and third children. Sanjna now decides to leave husband Sun to perceive penance for upliftment. But she understands her responsibility as a wife to serve & help husband Sun.
Sanjna who is the sister of Vishwakarma, is an ace architect & designer. She makes an exact duplicate of herself using her skills & blows life into the replica & names it as Chaya. Chaya asks her master Sanjna for orders. Sanjna tells Chaya that she should act as Sun's wife.
And Sanjna tells Chaya that she should not tell this truth to Sun. Chaya says she won't reveal the truth voluntarily but on pressing she will reveal. Sanjna leaves the house & Chaya starts living as Sun's wife. Since she was so exactly like Sanjna, Sun could not suspect too
Sun gets Savarna Manu d Shani as sons from Chaya. When everything was going smoothy Chaya starts discriminating between Yama & her own son Shani. Yama is first puzzled as to why mother is discriminating against him.
After repeated discrimination Yama warns mother Chaya, that he won't tolerate any more discrimination. But Chaya discriminates against Yama again, & in anger Yama lifts his leg to kick her. On seeing this Chaya curses Yama that his leg will rot & fall off.
Distraught Yama runs to Sun & narrates the entire sequence of events & begs him to save from Chaya's curse. Sun is puzzled as how can a mother discriminate among her children. Using his divine eyes he finds out that wife Chaya is not Sanjna, & Sanjna has left the house already
Sun tells his son Yama that though mother Chaya was wrong in discriminating, Yama trying to assault mother was a big blunder and mother's curse can not be rectified by father too.
Sun tells Yama, that if he can take a vow of never deviating from the path of Dharma in future before Brahma, he will get one more leg. Seems Yama undertook this vow & slowly a second leg grew in place of the fallen first leg. Due to this vow Yama got the name of Dharmaraja.

Shraddha anukalpas(alternatives) given by our Dharmashastras, to address the practical difficulties of people. Dharmashastras allows 7 different ways in which Shraddha can be performed.

KshaNa
Kurcha
Aama
TarpaNa
Hema
Gograasa
Namaskara

....Shraddhas
Kshana Shraddha ...Minimum of two Vipras (learned in at least one Veda), Brahmins, and cooked food required. If such Brahmins r not available, then at least ones knowledgeable in Purusha Sukta, if such ones are also not available then those knowledgeable in Gayatri mantra.
Kurcha Shraddha ..If Vipras knowing Vedas, Purusha Sukta & Gayatri r also not available, then use Kurcha(Dharba grass), to represent Brahmins(in whom Vishve devatas & Pitru devata r invoked & complete the Shraddha. This Shraddha also requires cooked food to be offered to Pitrus.

Who are Pitru Devatas ? ....

During all the Shraddha ceremony, Pitru Devatas are worshipped, along with Vishve Devatas. Pitru Devatas bless our ancestors. Who are these ?

Seems once Brahma advised Devatas to worship Atma. Devatas started worshipping themselves.
On learning that Devatas are worshipping their Atmas instead of Paramatma, Brahma cursed Devatas to 'lose all the knowledge they had acquired'. Devasted Devatas fell at Brahmas feet, confessed to committing blunder, sought pardon and restoration of their knowledge.
Brahma expressed his helplessness in undoing his curse, but told them to go to their sons who can help them in regaining their knowledge. Devatas approached their sons and narrated the whole episode of losing their knowledge and sought their assistance in regaining knowledge.

For those who are not aware ...Your broadband internet speed is limited by the capacity of the router. Even though the service providers promise & deliver 50/100/150 Mbps, if the router does not support this, one will only get the speed supported by the router.
Make sure your router supports the speed delivered by your ISP like BSNL, Airtel etc. This normally happens, when one upgrades their broadband speed, without bothering to check if the router supports the upgraded speed.
Some of the latest routers support dual channel. Which means your broadband speed can be apportioned into two buckets with a fixed speed out of the total speed. For example if one is getting 50Mbps, one can make 20 & 30 two groups, each will have unique wifi name.

Pitru devata Vairaja was son of Brahma. Vairaja had a daughter Menaka, who married Parvataraja. Parvataraja and Menaka had three daughters.
All the three daughters of Menaka, once decided to leave the house, to a far off mountain, for undertaking Tapas. Menaka worried by the decision of their daughters told them 'You can undertake Tapas, but, do it in a near by place, so that we can check on you regularly'.

Tamils did not call themselves Dravidas. It was only Sanskrit/Prakrit people who called them Dravidas, yet some brainwashed Kannadigas want to call themselves as Dravidas. This is a must watch video of Dr Nagaswami, specially Dravida Kannadigas to rid themselves of their delusion
Dr Nagaswami : There was classical Tamil, in the Kaveri river valley (Fertile land on either side of Kaveri, farthest point in the east was the place where Kaveri joins the Bay of Bengal), Colloquial Tamil, Border area Tamil, & beyond the Tamil land in the north(Sanskrit)
Earliest reference to Tamil, was from the Kalinga region in 3 century BC. They called it as Tramizh. It was referred in the Ashoka Maurya period too. Evidence at Nagarjuna Sagara buddhist site shows that people from Tramizh region went there to study.

ಕರೀಂ ಖಾನರನ್ನ 1980 ರ ದಶಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಬುಲ್ ಟೆಂಪಲ್ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ದ್ವಾರಕಾ ಹೋಟೆಲ್ಲಿನ(ಖಾಲಿ ದೋಸೆ) ರೂಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಭೇಟಿಯಾದ್ದ ನೆನಪು. ಇವರು ಒಬ್ಬರೇ ರೂಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಡಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಇವರು ಮೂಲತಃ ಸಕಲೇಶಪುರದವರಾಗಿದ್ದು ನನ್ನ ನೆಂಟರಿಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯವಂತೆ. ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ನೆಂಟರಿಗೆ ಡ್ರೈವರ್ ಆಗಿ ಜೊತೆಯೆಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದೆ.
