🇯🇵Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Kato expressed “regret” that a #comfortwomen statue representing the plight of Asian women who were sexually enslaved during WWII has been erected in 🇩🇪Berlin. Secretary Kato said that GoJ will work in every way possible to remove the statue.
According to Kyodo, top GoJ spokesman said it was “extremely regrettable” that the statue was erected in Berlin’s city-owned property, saying he would “engage with various stakeholders to explain our position towards the removal” of the statue to rectify their global reputation.
Now you would wonder what 'reputation' is there to rectify if they are constantly destroying it themselves. Like how they did it here, way back in
2015, which resulted in severing the 60 years of sister-city relationship with the city of Osaka.
