I, like most Americans, find the death of Mr. Floyd disturbing and completely unacceptable, and I hope those responsible are prosecuted to the max extent of the law. I also defend any citizen's right to peacefully protest...However, this is no longer about the death of Mr. Floyd.
This is about criminals, anarchists, and terrorists using this man's tragic death to steal, loot, and victimize law abiding citizens.
I am also disgusted to see our brave police officers being disrespected and targeted by these thugs!
99% of our law enforcement personnel are brave public servants that routinely put their lives on the line to protect our families and our property.
I am appalled, disgusted, angered, and saddened to see what is happening to our country and I, for one, will not stand for this!
Self-proclaimed socialist @AOC should be ASHAMED of herself! AOC sent out this tweet before quickly deleting it, saying she "absolutely loves to see" hardworking Texans working in the oil and gas industry lose their jobs.
Growing up, I worked as a roustabout in the oil fields to pay my way through school. I never relied on the government- I had to work for everything I had. I know what it's like to sweat for a paycheck.
Under the guise of the pseudo-threat called “climate change”, Democrats want to destroy American industry, and put millions of Americans on unemployment.
THREAD
1/4: Heartbreaking news today as Potter County reported its first death due to COVID-19. I know this is increasingly concerning for many of you, and as a resident of Amarillo, I am concerned about my family and my neighbors, too.
2/4: Yesterday, I spent the entire day at the White House in order to discuss the plans for those in our district in person, with emphasis on small business, agriculture, and oil and gas.
3/4: I met with the President, the Secretary of Energy, several members of Congress, and numerous CEOs from the energy sector. I also met with members of the Coronavirus Task Force. What I can tell you is, that much is being done right now to keep us safe and get us back to work.
