President Trump on making a coronavirus vaccine available to the American public: "We can have it a lot sooner. It is a very political thing. I have spoken to Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson, and others... We are going to deliver it right away."
Trump : "I wear a mask when needed. I don’t wear a mask like him. Every time you see him he's got a mask," the president said. "He could be speaking 200 ft away and he'd show up with the biggest mask I've seen."

Joe Biden responds to him saying masks "make a big difference."
Trump responds to the New York Times report that alleged that he paid $750 in federal income taxes in 2016 and 2017.

"I have paid millions of dollars in taxes, and millions in income taxes. I paid 38 million one year, I paid 27 million one year," he said.
"I would stand back and stand by, but somebody has got to do something about Antifa and the Left," said Trump when asked whether he would oppose white supremacists.
Biden says he is "totally opposed to defunding the police," a call by anti-racism protesters in the aftermath of police brutality against Black Americans.

"What I support is police having the opportunity to deal with the problems they face…They need more assistance," he said.

Bad day to be Not Good at colors, huh?

#Bundestagswahl21
A German government needs a 50% majority in parliament, but it's difficult for one party to get that much voter support. They agree on coalitions and working out what it all means is like math. Color theory? Color algebra? The numbers of shade? Ok bear with us, it's still early.
So let's break it down:

The center-right CDU and CSU are symbolized by the color black.

The center-left Social Democrat SPD is red, as is the socialist Left Party.

The neoliberal Free Democrats' (FDP) color is yellow.

And the Greens are, well, c'mon, it's not 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 hard.

The US embassy in Iraq was attacked at the start of the year by a crowd angered by US airstrikes targeting an Iran-backed militia.

The protesters have since withdrawn from the area after a tense standoff.
US and Iran tensions have been continually rising.

The Pentagon confirmed today that Iranian General Qassem Soleimani was killed in a US airstrike in Baghdad.

"This strike was aimed at deterring future Iranian attack plans," the Pentagon said.

As large numbers of displaced people arrived in 2015, some Schengen countries reintroduced border checks. Six are extending controls.

That's illegal, EU observers say, and it undermines the idea of freedom of movement: 🧵 p.dw.com/p/3S8Ad
People and goods can move rather freely across the internal borders of the 26-nation Schengen Area.

The idea is that the agreement (between 22 EU countries + 🇮🇸, 🇱🇮, 🇳🇴 & 🇨🇭) will boost domestic economies and facilitate human mobility in a way that few parts of the world permit.
Clear rules regulate when and how a Schengen country can temporarily reintroduce checks at its borders.

Until recently, these reintroductions were few and far between, usually invoked for foreseeable events, such as major sports competitions or political meetings:
