Day 6 of the #baileyboswelltrial and first on the witness stand is the general manager from the Days Inn in Iowa who recognized Aubrey Trail and Bailey Boswell as they were on the run.
@NTVNEWS
Following the general manger on the stand is another hotel employee from Iowa, where she also identified Trail and Boswell around late November of 2017.
@NTVNEWS
The hotel clerk Jenny Bloom says she saw a Facebook post with the two suspects while they were still at her hotel.
Bloom then notified law enforcement about their whereabouts.
@NTVNEWS
Taking over the stand is FBI Special Agent Jackie Hahn. Hahn and her team searched the hotel rooms in Iowa that Trail and Boswell were staying in.
Noting almost a day's difference between when the two were there and gone and when the FBI arrived.
@NTVNEWS
Photo evidence is being shown of what was found in the hotel rooms.
The second hotel room that was searched on the 29th (after the two left on the 28th) revealed all the items they left behind, including clothing and food.
@NTVNEWS
Trail and Boswell make their way out of Iowa to a hotel in Branson, Missouri.
Special Agent Dana Kreeger testifies about the search photo evidence taken of their hotel room.
@NTVNEWS
A couple of cell phones were left behind in the hotel room and a receipt indicates the two had recently purchased the phones.
@NTVNEWS
A fanny pack was found containing protein bars, a radio, and map.
One bag that appeared to be recently purchased, had clothing with some of the tags still attached, according to Kreeger.
@NTVNEWS
Another FBI special agent is testifying about his involvement in the searches.
SA Scott Backen shares details about the search of the Chrysler Sebring.
The Sebring was being driven by Trail and Boswell, according to prior testimony from the hotel clerks.
@NTVNEWS
A bag containing hygiene items, protein bars, water bottles, winter clothing, walkie talkies, and a pay by month cell phone are amongst some of the numerous items seized, according to Backen.
@NTVNEWS
Backen says a purple wallet, believed to be Boswell's, was found containing her driver's license, a will written by Trail, numerous cards, and a list of names.
A wallet was also found for Trail.
@NTVNEWS
The will stated that if anything were to happen to Trail, all of his possessions would go to Boswell.
@NTVNEWS
Now on the stand is FBI Special Agent Mike Maseth.
He is discussing the Facebook videos posted by Trail and Boswell in late November.
They can be seen in the videos saying they have no involvement with Loofe's disappearance.
@NTVNEWS
"This isn't about me, this is about Sydney. I'm going to tell you what I told the Lincoln Police many times, said Boswell in one of the Facebook videos, "I just want the family to know I didn't have anything to do with this. Sydney is a sweet and amazing girl..."
@NTVNEWS
In another video, Boswell addresses a previous video made by Trail saying she agrees with him and, while flaunting her tattoos, isn't trying to hide anything.
This video was recovered from a cell phone and was never published publicly by Boswell.
@NTVNEWS
Maseth was able to turn the Facebook video into an IP address then into a phone number through several investigative procedures.
@NTVNEWS
Maseth and the FBI were able to track down Trail and Boswell to the Branson, Missouri area.
He says he recognized a number for the Windmill Inn and contacted local law enforcement to see if the vehicle the two were driving was in the parking lot.
It was.
@NTVNEWS
This ultimately led to their arrest.
Now we have jumped to the Tinder accounts and conversations between Sydney Loofe and "Audrey Cain" or Bailey Boswell.
@NTVNEWS
Maseth connected the recently discovered number for Bailey Boswell to the "Audrey Cain" Tinder account.
Now confirming that they are the same person.
@NTVNEWS
Evidence reveals the conversations the two were having on Tinder as they discuss hanging out for the first time.
Loofe agreed to be picked up at her house in Lincoln for their date, then moved on to talking about cooking and work.
@NTVNEWS
They continued their conversations on Tinder even after the date as both shared they were in a good mood and excited/ready for the next time they would hang out.
@NTVNEWS
As we pick up from lunch, Maseth discusses Sydney Loofe's Tinder profile with the prosecution as they deciphered some of the information presented.
@NTVNEWS
Next on the stand is LPD Investigator Robert Hurley.
The prosecution is working to set the scene of how qualified and experienced Hurley is in technology.
He played a key part in helping track down Boswell and her cell phone.
@NTVNEWS
Hurley is now discussing his work with Real Time Tool (previously known as Return Trip Time) which is the measurement of the time it takes your phone signal to get to a tower.
He says in his review of the phone numbers, Boswell's had the most data connected to it.
@NTVNEWS
A map reveals RTT data for Boswell's phone and some of the locations she was at in southern Nebraska during the week of Loofe's disappearance.
@NTVNEWS
Through analyzation of the data, Hurley was able to map out a possible date, time, and location of Trail and Boswell.
This includes a time frame they were in rural Clay County during the early morning hours of November 16th.
@NTVNEWS
Hurley says two different phone numbers, connected to Boswell, followed the same path out to rural Clay County on the 16th.
A phone number associated with Trail showed limited data but in the same general area on that day.
@NTVNEWS
He says looking back on a search of rural Clay County on December 3rd, he was barely off on the location of Loofe's remains.
They found her body the very next day.
@NTVNEWS
In cross examination of Hurley, the defense pointed out the vehicle being used to travel to the rural locations could not be identified.
@NTVNEWS
Hurley ended his time on the stand with further discussion of how cell phones switch between towers when on the move.
@NTVNEWS
Nebraska State Patrol Lieutenant Cory Townsend is now on the stand.
He played a role in the search of the apartment in Wilber and was also a part of the foot search in rural Clay County.
@NTVNEWS
He describes the area they searched and the wind that they had to fight against.
As they are moving through a cattail slough, an officer says he found something.
A black plastic trash bag containing human remains was located.
@NTVNEWS
The search team located more trash bags scattered around the area containing what they believed to be Loofe's remains.
@NTVNEWS
Townsend: "When you look at those pictures, I hope you see the vast area we were being asked to search when we were looking for something the size of you and I."
@NTVNEWS
Townsend ended his time on the stand with questions from the defense about the possibility of random items being found in the ditches on country roads.
He is the eighth and final witness of today.

@NTVNEWS
Yesterday, after receiving the phone number for "Audrey Cain" or Bailey Boswell, they found the address connected to the number.
Hudiburgh went to the address in Wilbur, Nebraska to search the home and was welcomed by a strong smell of bleach.
@NTVNEWS
Hudiburgh says law enforcement was looking for a person and not anything specific on their initial search of the property.
He says the home appeared "normal."

Testimony is underway again for this afternoon's session of the #baileyboswelltrial as we continue with Brooklyn McCrystal, Sydney's friend that created a Tinder account to match with "Audrey Cain" or Bailey Boswell.
@NTVNEWS
The defense is questioning McCrystal if she knew the person she was contacting, "Audrey Cain," was really even Bailey Boswell.
Making the point that McCrystal had no way to verify who she was really talking to.
@NTVNEWS
Next on the stand is Lincoln Police Department Officer Joseph Yandrick, who became involved in the missing person's case for Sydney Loofe.
