History of Medieval India by Satish Chandra (whose book was withdrawn by NCERT)
Let's have a look on his biography
@Mahadevangini @basicfunk @Voice_Of_Dharma @Vitocorleone70s @vedicvishal @Vegadarsi1 @shrilalraghudev @hindujedi @KetanMalaviya8 @cantthinkyaar Image
Satish Chandra was born in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh to Sir Sita Ram, India's first High Commissioner to Pakistan and his wife, Basudevi.
He attended Allahabad University where he got his B.A., M.A. and D.Phil. His doctoral thesis was on the Parties and Politics in 18th century India Image
He taught at Allahabad University, AMU, Delhi University, JN and Rajasthan University and He belonged to the group of historians, along with Romila Thapar, R. S. Sharma, B. Chandra and Arjun Dev, who are referred to as "left-leaning" or "influenced by Marxist approach to history. Image
He was Chairperson of the Centre for a few years. He was the Secretary and President of the Indian History Congress. Through the 1970s, he served as the Vice Chairman and Chairman of the University Grants Commission of India.
As Chairperson of the UGC and someone who had the ear of the erudite Minister of State for Education (independent charge) Prof. Saiyid Nurul Hasan, Prof. Satish Chandra effected certain changes that had a long-term impact on Indian academia.
in 1977 PM Morarji Desai allegedly insinuated that Satish Chandra was close to the previous dispensation since he had been personally appointed by Indira Gandhi. Satish Chandra’s reply was typically crisp: “Who else could have appointed me!” 👞👅
Medieval India, the textbook that Prof. Satish Chandra wrote for NCERT, is a monumental contribution. In 2001 a group of people demanded the arrest of Romila Thapar, Satish Chandra etc. for authoring 'offensive' textbooks.
In 2006, 4 NCERT textbooks containing “objectionable” matter on prominent Sikh figures had been withdrawn after objections from scholars of minority communities. Which contains Medieval India by Prof Satish Chandra for Classs 11.

Braberic Tipu Sultan - From the diary of Francois Ripaud.
François Fidèle Ripaud de Montaudevert (1755–1814) was a French privateer, notable for bringing a group of French soldiers from Isle de France (Mauritius) to aid Tipu Sultan against the British in South India.
He had heard a lot about Tipu Sultan
but when He came to live in Tipu's state, Ripaud was disgusted when he came to know the real face of Tipu. Ripaud had assumed that Tipu was a noble leader who respected the opinion of his people. But it was not the truth.
It was stated in his dairy in Jan 14, 1799 that Ripaud was disturbed by the view from his fort where Brahmins were chopped daily and their followers were made to see it, which was carried on by the soldiers on the instructions of Tipu.
