If you want to know how the GOP was steered toward Trumpism, this is a pretty good example of why and how, and no they don't get to wash their hands of it. They are just the other team's problem now.
The Lincoln Project *IS* Donald Trump and it took anyone with a pair of eyes and more than two brain cells to see this about 5 minutes after it was created.
For those of you not in the know... and apparently there are a-lot of you
You don't beat Trump by becoming Trump or worse. You just become a shittier version of Trump.
On the other hand I cannot tell you how absolutely funny it is Rick Wilson is now defending the honor of Barack Obama. It's almost worth it alone Joe Biden winning to watch Wilson defend Democrats for four years.

As Bulwark writers try to gaslight in my mentions, it's a fun time to remind people that it's a 501c3 funded by progressive donors that also tries to use things like movie reviews and food recipes to cover for that.
And any person who voluntarily participates in that exercise knows exactly what they're doing, even as they try to distant themselves from that kind of craziness. Cash those paychecks,
Substack could use more great movie reviews. Without all the political ickiness
Seems pretty newsy that it's all being revealed the President of the United States was an invalid, and while he was in office, Russia invaded Ukraine and will bog us down for years because of it.
Feel like these are the questions currently being ignored.
Seems pretty newsy that we're learning the President was senile during a catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan that saw 13 service members killed and the Taliban back in control.
He took 6 questions in 4 years about it.
This is why the media's role in all of this cannot be washed away after a couple of books.
It's why "Just a couple of aides we aren't going to name" isn't good enough and it's why all of these people need to be hauled in front of Congress.
The opposite is actually happening. The right was calling out the lack of media coverage on Fetterman while he was running and babbling nonsensically through a debate.
The right isn't *defending* John Fetterman. We're just asking about the curious, sudden timing, and neither Chait nor anyone else can answer how he's changed from 2022, to now.
It's about Israel, and EVERYONE knows it. Chait and the media are the ones who have to explain why they didn't cover his health back then, but are so eager to do so now.
All they have to do, Kara Swisher in particular, is answer what's the difference between John Fetterman from 2 years ago, and John Fetterman now.
They won't do it.
No one on the right is actually saying, "John Fetterman is sharp and fit behind closed doors."
We're just noticing the obvious hit job against him.
Federal employees being completely lost in the dark policy-wise without being informed by whatever Politico is publishing is the tell of all tells here.
"How will federal agencies direct policy without Politico's invaluable directions?"
So we're clear here, this is a progressive journalist admitting that they believe their job is to shape how policymakers think in federal agencies, on things like abortion, climate, etc.. and without them, these employees would be lost in the woods.
