The myths of white supremacy and American Exceptionalism are lies with no basis in reality. Empirical evidence shows us they’re untrue.
But Republicans rely on the lie for power, profit, and control. To protect it, they war against reality, democracy, and science.
Of course Trump’s doctors and administration are lying. Lying is their only move at any time. Fascism friends on the lie because it’s founded on the lie.
It’s the worship of the lie.
Even a momentary glimpse of truth is enough for the brittle ideology of fascism to crumble.
Fascism is the weaponization of reality and this is why anyone who dissents or questions the artificial reality is either neutralized, threatened, brutalized, or disappeared.
It’s a war for the control of reality and a violent defense of the lie.
Trump’s medical condition can’t be dealt with in any reality resembling objective truth. It has to be manipulated, covered up, subject to propaganda.
Trumpism/fascism is so tenuous that any slip, no matter how minor or human, is enough to disrupt the relentless illusion.
Trumpism/fascism has to consume science and medicine, it has to pervert it for its own survival.
It’s about the line between personal truth and empirical truth. What we’re seeing right now is pseudoscience with an intent to propagandize and protect the lie.
And make no mistake, this has been aided for years by an insistence to treat anti-science movements like climate change denial as legitimate, good-faith positions by people who know full and well climate change is real.
This didn’t just happen. It was a process.
We reached this moment of Trumpism/fascism because people knew facts and democracy didn’t serve them politically, so they decided to construct this artificial reality in order to preserve their power and profit.
This is bad faith politics metastasized into a societal threat.

Let's talk about Trump's fascist posturing last night, the death cult that worships him, and how fascism is a war on reality as well as masculine overcompensation.
I want to be right up front with this. We're in the grips of a fascist movement in this country that operates like a murderous death cult.
This is what happens when a country with a nationalist religion begins to falter. We have to call it what it is

Trump performed live propaganda last night, staging for Americans a show of strength and power, ripping the mask off, posturing, all of it a matter of reassuring everyone he was stronger than the virus.
I was going to write about this tomorrow, but this situation is so rapidly changing and escalating that there's no time to spare.
This madness with Trump's medical condition is the encapsulation of a decades' long war on reality by the Republican Party in order to gain power

What you need to understand is this bizarre moment is a result of years and years of Republican efforts to discredit science and experts in order to maintain control and consolidate power.
It's created a partnership between the GOP and a fascistic movement that endangers us.
When powers begin to fade they lose the ability to better living conditions, respond to crises, or even provide the basic necessities of life.
They collapse in on themselves and offer nothing but lies about reality and violence to enforce the propaganda.
This path that we’re on, with Trumpism, fascism, and the dying myths of American exceptionalism and white supremacy, is a road to death.
We’re experiencing societal rot right now and this moment should be warning enough that we’d better right our course in a hurry.
Our failure to address the pandemic, economic inequality, the rise of paramilitary extremism, the creep of managed democracies, one natural disaster after another, the existential threat of climate change...these are portents.
An authoritarian in power, a party that has no principles, extremists willing to use violence and murder as a weapon, and a country in denial about its situation.
Last night at the debate Trump continued to refuse any possibility he might lose a free and fair election, undermined the possibility of a real result, and sent a message to his violent followers to "standby."
This is a fascist movement. It's not politics as usual.
We all know Donald Trump is a total failure and fraud. We need to talk about how the mythology of Trump was constructed and used by the Republican Party and the wealthy to further their interests
The New York Times coverage of Trump's failures and manipulation of his wealth and taxes was spectacular and showed just how fake the story of Trump's success is.
Unfortunately, people have used that story to their own ends over and over again, putting us all in danger.

How Donald Trump, a total charlatan and fraud, came to take over the Republican Party and push us to the edge of fascism is a story we must learn, understand, and counteract.
Reality as we know it, particularly the Trumpian reality, is a weapon used against us.
MAGA is a religious cult that worships a fake past, a mythology of America that never existed and was only used as a weapon for political and economic power.
It is dragging us into the fascistic abyss, and we need to understand what fascism really is before it swallows us.

We must start with Benito Mussolini, who organized the fascistic ideology in the 20th century and defined it as a purposeful rewinding of history and a rejection of liberal democracy and the idea of equality and freedom.
