Few things are more satisfying than making *good* coffee at home first thing in the morning
French Press, Aeropress, pourover, Chemex, you name it, pretty much every brewing method can lead to excellent coffee if you do it properly

I have a small little Nespresso machine (~$60 bucks) and it gets occasional use when I'm really in a rush

But most of my coffee making is either Aeropress (for a single cup) or french press (for 2-3 cups)

Just finished Andrew Weissmann's book on the Mueller investigation

I can say this - I enjoyed reading it! Well-written, paced well, and even persuasive at times

But more often, Weissmann's arrogance and lack of self-awareness is just jarring

More often, you have passages like this, where Weissmann just brazenly states things that are false

Listening in, the audio is absolutely abysmal, Judge Sullivan is using an old school phone teleconference
Court is now in session, it sounds like there's a video feed we do not have access to, we're just getting the audio
Sullivan says he's going to "spend some time capturing the essence of the main arguments," and then he'll give everyone a chance to comment/make their arguments

There's a lot of hot takes about how 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse was too young to open carry a rifle in Wisconsin

This @journalsentinel piece states it as fact, and plenty of other people have too

I'm pretty sure everyone has it wrong

This excerpt should have given the @journalsentinel pause

They state as fact that Kyle Rittenhouse violated the law

But then they cite a *lawyer who specializes in gun rights cases* who thinks an exception applies

The author should have listened to him!
Here's the relevant Wisconsin statute

It does say that "any person under 18 years of age who...goes armed with a dangerous weapon is guilty of a...misdemeanor."

But it has a number of exceptions, including one for minors who are carrying a rifle or shotgun—note subsection 3(c)

Flynn hearing thread

Srinivasan asks for another case in which mandamus has been granted to compel a district court to decide a motion in a particular way

Powell tries to answer with rule 48(a), but Srinivasan wants to focus on the broader mandamus question
And Powell responds - no, she doesn't have a case at hand.

Srinivasan ask- well, if the District Court grants the motion to dismiss, wouldn't be "adequate alternate means" of getting the relief Flynn seeks?

Powell responds - no, it's the process that's the problem.

Judge Rogers asks whether mandamus was granted in Fokker *after* the District Court had ruled

Powell concedes the answer is yes
