MP @JulieDzerowicz spoke with pride today that her govt tossed hundreds of millions of dollars to food banks and other charities, rather than give that money directly to people in need, including people with disabilities who have a great difficulty accessing food banks in normal
times let alone in a pandemic. It is clear that MP Dzerowicz has never been in a food bank as a client, where it would be hard to believe they had received over $100 million. She may wish to visit the countless pieces of photographic evidence that food banks offer up rotten,
mouldy and expired food to people who don't dare complain, lest they get even that food high-handedly snatched away from them, because many food bank workers love the thrill of having power over those in need.
To MP @JulieDzerowicz

If you are so proud of the fact Canada would sooner spend hundreds of million on food banks that then offer substandard fare to recipients, rather than urge your govt to give food band recipients a livable benefit where they can go and choose their own
food with dignity, at a grocery store, then perhaps you should sign up for a 30 day food bank challenge and see how many days you can make it before you become seriously ill and malnourished. My friend, who has a disability and can't afford to live, was recently diagnosed with a
B12 deficiency in particular, and malnourishment in general. This purely poverty-related disease is exacerbating a very serious degenerative neurological disease. If she soon isn't able to afford real food, she could die. It is all right for her because she's been begging for
MAID ever since it became apparent that people with disabilities would not be helped by any level of government, but for the people who love her and try to support her in every way they can, her loss will be devastating to us, and we will be directly blaming both Doug Ford's
cruel government and yours, who was aided and abetted by your cruel government. She worked all her life, paid taxes and helped build this country, just like every other person the Liberals praise and give money to as a thanks for their contribution. Your government openly
discriminates against people with disabilities just like Doug Ford's government when it comes to PWD. Why does your government treat PWD like dogs, just throwing them scraps of everyone else's castoffs to these charities you seem to think are wonderful. It shouldn't be up to her
friends and family to be financially supporting her. Her parents are retired on a limited pension. Her friends have family obligations of their own. What was the point of her paying hundreds of thousands in taxes if all she would get in return is $1,169/mo and that was ONLY after
she had to spend all her pensions, sell off her assets, so she literally has nothing left except that $1,169 a month, where most of that money goes to pay her rent. Why is your government not complying with the @UN_Enable Convention that your government signed and made legally
binding upon Canada, to ensure PWD are physically, mentally and financially protected and NOT to be left behind?

I ask you to PLEASE stop praising food banks and other charities. All you're doing by glorifying them is saying, "To hell with you poor and disabled people: you're
not worth anything but the scraps that everyone else just throws away.

Just PLEASE stop praising charities. The message you're sending is that PWDs don't matter.

Dear @JoelHardenONDP

I'm not sure if you were in Queen's Park today, but can you ask Todd Smith if he's lying? He said that the govt continues to pay out 'discretionary' money to ODSP clients. Why have people like my friend not been informed of this? @CityCynthia
My friend is severely disabled and definitely could have used even an extra $100 a month in order to not starve to death, especially during this time. She can't get to a food bank b/c she has mobility issues, can't afford transit, is immuno compromised, and even if she could go,
I'm not able to drive her, because food is available by appointment only and I can't just leave work every time my friend needs food.

Mr. Harden, this is pure discrimination and neglect. Why does no one seem to know about this extra money? Why will no one sue this govt for

Why's the @liberal_party stalling on this? It's been part of their party's platform since about 2015.

Canada needs a basic income for ALL who need it. PWD helped build this country too.

It's utter stupidity that they're creating even more patchwork systems instead of
introducing a BI for all who need it. Does the @liberal_party just enjoy wasting as much money as the Conservatives by having a dozen different income support programs with heavy admin costs, and is punitively means tested instead of giving all Canadians enough to live with
dignity, buy nutritious food, not have to worry about not having enough to pay rent? Surely the @liberal_party is not as dumb as the Conservatives, who would sooner throw money out the window, trying to keep people down, instead of improving lives, health and the economy, all

This is a much more meaningful investment, @JustinTrudeau than the investments you have made to charities, and especially to food banks. My friend, who did not suffer from mental illness prior to being driven into deep poverty due to a debilitating physical illness, was informed
by her doctor that she is displaying all the symptoms of PTSD, and she directly attributes this new disabling illness to the fact my friend has been traumatised by trying to figure out how to live on $1,169 a month, after having to spend all her retirement savings, give up
assets that she worked so hard to acquire over her career, and then be treated like a dog by all levels of government, because she has a choice to either starve to death (which she's actually choosing to do) or further traumatise herself by begging for 3 days worth of scraps at a

If Ms. @DahliaKurtz can't get an answer directly from PWD oppressors, perhaps she could contact the @UN_Enable @CdnHumanRights @OntHumanRights to see if they can investigate why both Canada & Ontario are in very serious violation of PWD's Charter S. 7, & UN CRPD Art. 28 rights.
A reminder: Canada chose to enter into a legally binding Convention with the United Nations, to protect people with disabilities, both financially & in every other way. The Charter is supposed to protect the life, liberty & security of the person for ALL who reside in Canada.
A person is denied their right to life if they have no ability to earn a living due to disability, & are not provided a livable income to cover their basic needs. Rotten food bank fare does not count towards being able to live. A person is denied their right to liberty, if every
