In New Zealand news today, so called 'political expert' Hamish Price has embarrassed himself again. A man famous for insisting that the Romans did not have any roads since they didn't have cars 😂😂
If you're at all worried, please be relieved to know that he and his party are about as far from winning our election as they could be, so nothing to worry about
For full clarity, Hamish seems to be a troll whose modus operandi is:
1. Say something stupid repeatedly 2. Act like you are the sort of person who would believe what you said in 1. 3. People assume you mean 1. and point out you are stupid 4. Apparently the joke's on them??

The Iliad in Memes is back! Today we are summarising Book 6, which takes a little break from the fighting to explore how the women of Troy are also suffering!
This meme shows up every year at this time and while it's funny it's not quite true, and an excellent opportunity to learn more about the Roman calendar!
Yes, Julius Caesar did reform the calendar and yes the motnhs July and Augustus were renamed after him and Augustus. But there had been 12 months for a lot longer!
The reason two months were added in goes back to very early Roman times, when they counted winter as one long month rather than three. When they decided to divide it up, it led to two extra motnhs coming in. This is the simplified version of course!
For those of you waiting for more Iliad book/meme summaries, they'll be back tomorrow - apologies, I have been on holiday for two days and unlike Alexander I did not take Homer with me
